The HfP chat thread – Wednesday 17th February

We have decided to run this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions.  With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind.  At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article.  This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Old chat threads are hidden from the HfP home page.  If you want to look for something in an old thread, click here.  This brings up all the articles in our ‘General’ category which includes the chat threads.

I’m still waiting to find out about that one. Another 9 months to be exact :-). Bet I’m not the only one.

*above reply to @Anna on the Iberia 90K. or should I say the Iberia -90K.

This time it only took Wordpress 15 seconds to lose which comment was being replied to. really, really flaky. But I suppose HfP breaks all sorts of internal limits in Wordpress. this one’s an ‘unresolved name’ error I think I saw it display once.

I’ve noticed some funny goings on with replies although I haven’t worked out what has triggered it.
When composing your reply make sure it says “cancel reply” to the right of “leave a comment”. If it doesn’t it won’t be nested and will appear as a new comment, however you can scroll back up the page and click “reply” again against where you want your comment inserted (leaving what you have entered in the comment box – although you can also copy the box contents as ‘belt and braces’) and it will pick up again that it’s a reply!

Let us know how you get on!
Then next it would be a case of understanding why it ‘loses’ it as being a reply….!
