Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Earn 7x your normal Avios at eBay

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

I’m not sure how widespread this offer is, but if your Nectar account is linked to your eBay account, and you are logged in, you may see an offer for 6x bonus points (for a total of 7x points) on purchases made by 14th February.

You should see a banner for the offer halfway down the eBay home page. It is also part of the rotating banner at the top of the page. You must click ‘Activate’ to register.

Bonus Nectar points on ebay

The base earning rate at eBay is 1 Nectar point (0.625 Avios) per £1 spent. With this offer, you would receive 7 Nectar points (4.38 Avios) per £1 spent.

There is a £15 minimum spend required. There is a cap of 300 base Nectar points per item – so 2,100 points in total with this offer – and the usual eBay rules on excluded categories apply.

The eBay home page is here. You can find out more about the Nectar partnership, and link your card, on this special eBay page.

Anyone got thoughts on how to use 40,000 AAdvantage Miles for American Airlines? With a relatively small balance and limited travel options I’m open to ideas.

    • chabuddy geezy says:

Travel one way in business class to Maldives for 42.5k on one world or etihad.

    • bafan says:

Ideas below are good. I wish somebody but Citi partnered with them. It’s a pain to earn or get miles on AA, even in the U.S.

      • Rob says:

How much is Etihad one-way Business or First Class to Abu Dhabi? That is probably the best use of them from the UK.

  • Andrew says:

The eBay offer I read as 6x bonus on top of the usual 1, so 7x in total. Also to note that the bonus will be paid within 28 days and the standard 1 paid next day as usual.

  • BJ says:

Signing up for the eBay offer is much simpler than described here. Just click on the offer in your Nectar app or online account.

    • TGLoyalty says:

You need to click visit website and actually login to activate. Pressing save for later in the app does nothing.

  • abc says:

I can’t find the 6x points offer on the eBay website, however it does appear under partner offers in the Nectar app and I could activate it from there.

  • MikeL says:

Aphrodite hills is stunning. Beautiful property. Great golf course too.

    • TGLoyalty says:

Fingers crossed Marriott take over running the hotel element

    • Stuart_f says:

For those that are new to golf there’s also a very nice 3 hole academy course. We used to take weekends here when we lived in Cyprus in a beautiful villa with an infinity pool overlooking the sea.

Marriott points are just a bonus now, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

  • Rich says:

You’ll know if you’re activated the offer. If you look at an item over £15, it should show the points you’ll earn, including bonus points. At least it does on the desktop version

  • Alex W says:

Typical. Just spent the best part of a grand on eBay the day before the offer started!!

  • Stu says:

About to build a new shed so thanks to this I’ve taken the opportunity of ordering a load of supplies and earned 2433 Nectar over 6 different purchases … result!
