  Apologies if already covered:

  Virgin Flying Club – new user. All of my points have largely gone with One World historically.

  VS app shows my points as SkyMiles -Delta? But also won’t show the balance – SkyMiles error.

  Contacted Virgin – had no idea what I was talking about.

  I get that DL are a major stakeholder in VS – but SkyMiles?

  Even at 120k for the WA, this would be another sweet spot. Although they could be playing availability tricks (e.g. mango house seems to only have double beds as standard rooms). Also 2023 is quite far away!

  I’ve just had a similar experience to Harry T – tried to book a night at the Kimpton Clocktower at the “pay later, no deposit required” rate and there was an attempt to take payment immediately. The Amex safe key activated so I stopped at that point and the payment didn’t go through but I’m now wondering if there’s some kind of glitch on the re-vamped IHG website?

    Anna, it’s interesting you say that because I was also trying to book flexible rates at the Kimpton Clocktower the other day (buy now, pay later, no deposit) and I got the safekey screen as well – so I abandoned the booking and went for the indigo. What is more entertaining is that Amex lend me spend thousands of euros on those Mr and Mrs Smith stays without safekey appearing this weekend, but safekey appeared for a cheapish Kimpton in Manchester for a couple of nights!

    How is that hotel? I was contemplating cancelling my Indigo Bath stay to try Clocktower for 3 nights as it was only 22kpn. With my road trip now locked in my August weekend in Bath is a bit redundant.

      My experience of it prior to it being formally rebranded (Jan 2020)

      Great looking public areas but the rooms were odd. It’s a big building one of the rooms I was given was a two double which felt crammed full of furniture then I was switched to a king which felt bare with hardly any.

      I’d still give it a go but I’m told the Radisson is a better property.

        The Radisson is a totally different style of property, very focused on the high-end corporate market and with a suitably clinical look. Very smart though.

      Thanks to both. I had forgotten or more likely missed the review so I’ll have a look. Radisson sounds like the one in Glasgow. Stayed in it only the one time soon after it opened when I still lived down south. It felt very light and spartan compared to typical UK hotels of tge time and while that provoked a mixed response, I liked it myself. However, no Radisson points and I’m on a mission to burn points right now. At 22k Clocktower seems excellent value but I’ll check again review on Indigo before deciding as sofar I line Indigo a lot.

        Morning BJ – the Clocktower treated us very well as Spire, £20 of free drink vouchers and fell over themselves to put fresh milk in our room fridge when requested. I agree about the King room feeling a bit empty but it was very comfortable. Wine and beer were free flowing for much longer than the social “hour”!
        The restaurant, Refuge, is worth a mention and a visit by itself – eclectic tapas served in the conservatory. We can’t wait to go back.

  Good news for the Hilton Diamonds and soon to be Diamonds of the world 😊 especially considering how affordable and easy it is to buy 320,000 Hilton points a year! Perhaps 640,000 between a couple, though I’m unsure if transfers are capped.
