  Lufthansa Group has made an important announcement re the Miles and More programme (not sure if it’s been mentioned previously).

  (1) Status miles count double in 2021 for flights on LH group and M&M member airlines.
  (2) Credit card spend will earn status miles also, at up to double the rate for award miles.
  (3) A bonus of 5,000 status miles will be given to all CC holders.
  (4) Max amount of status miles available under the promo is 30,000.

  Note that for some countries (e.g. DE) you are earning double the usual rate that award miles accrue, so 2 status miles for 1EUR. For the UK, it’s not quite double – you earn 2 status miles for 1GBP of spend.

        If you get yourself to FTL/Silver it looks like card spend will then count towards renewal, capped at 30k miles.

      The CC status miles earnings only applies to FTL/SEN/HON but the double status miles on flights applies to everyone.

  I’m sure it’s been covered but what happens if BA cancel your F tickets from KWI-LHR on reduced avios? Can anyone supply a link to the HfP article because I can’t find it – thanks.

    If BA cancel they will rebook you, no Avios seats needed, up to 1 year from the date your original ticket was issued. Anything else will require cancellation and rebooking and you lose the 50%.

      But why just one year? I’ve had a flight cancelled three times now and we’re at the end of the one year period and I want to rebook but they’re refusing. Why?

        It’s BA using an easily overcome minor IATA admin issue as an excuse not to provide passenger rights. They can just issue a new ticket in a way that maintains link to old ticket proving it’s the same travel to overcome the minor issue of IATA tickets having a max validity of 1 yr from issue but it’s just easier for them to deny.

          I believe the actual limitation can in any case be overridden with an endorsement INVOL.
          And this is specifically in IATA rules, that 1 year only applies to voluntary changes.

  On the subject of a floor value for Avios. I’ve always kept a spreadsheet of my personal assets and up to now have never put a value against my Avios – mainly because I’ve only ever used them for aspirational F trips.

  Now, not only can I value my Avios stash, I have added £15k to my spreadsheet overnight!

  If I booked a flight and car hire through BA Holidays which was paid for partly by cash and partly by applying a travel voucher, then BA cancel the new flight does anyone know how they process the refund? Is it all as cash (obviously preferable) or is another voucher issued to the value of the original and only cash on the cash element of the holiday?
