American Express has launched two new benefits this morning for holders of Business Platinum and Business Gold.

We will do a longer article in a few days, but I wanted to give you a heads up now.

Got American Express Business Platinum?

You receive £150 per year of Dell statement credit. £75 is triggered between 1st January and 30th June, with the other £75 triggering between 1st July and 31st December.

Only the primary cardholder gets the benefit although spending by supplementary cardholders will trigger payment.

You can order anything on the Dell UK site (see here) as long as it is shipped to a UK address.

Got American Express Business Gold?

You receive £100 per year of Dell statement credit. £50 is triggered between 1st January and 31st June, with the other £50 triggering between 1st July and 31st December.

You can order anything on the Dell UK site (see here) as long as it is shipped to a UK address.

There is no minimum spend requirement. Only the primary cardholder gets the benefit although spending by supplementary cardholders will trigger payment.

This is a particularly generous offer for Business Gold cardholders, since the card is free in the first year.

An important note about registration

You do NOT register for this cashback deal via the usual ‘Offers’ page, because it is a permanent benefit.

You need to register on the same page where you register for the hotel status cards, the free The Times subscription etc, which is here.

More on this benefit to follow when we have had time to look into it more deeply.

Our review of Business Gold is here and you can apply here. The application page does not yet reflect the new benefit.

Our review of Business Platinium is here and you can apply here. The application page does not yet reflect the new benefit.

You can have a look at what you might want to get on the Dell website here.

Marginally OT, but does anyone have any recent experience in closing a Business card with Amex, and then applying for the same card soon after? No bonus points of course, but otherwise how likely is Amex to refuse the second application?

    • Jay says:

Have closed business and then opened a personal (no MR bonus) and closed business opened another business 6 months later with no problems.

    • Jay says:

Providing your account is in good order, so issue. If you want help pushing the application through, speak to an Amex Business Manager and they will happy to help as well… they are very eager !!

  • Track says:

Dell UK sales are useless though. Never brought a sale to materialise.

I have two orders that were never executed beyond IRN number, Dell associates claim there was payment problems. Payment cards were active, and I even saw pre-authorisations!

  • Archie says:

Sorry if I’ve missed something, is the £50 statement credit (for Gold biz) applied after any value spend or just equal to the purchase price, up to £50? There’s a £1.67 Solid State Drive that looks tempting!

  • Max says:

Ordered two items for £53 (I have a Gold Business Amex), and these show up as 2 separate pending transactions. Should I expect full £50 back, or will Amex only credit the value of one of the orders?
