How to use your £25 Financial Times credit from American Express

We recently looked at interesting ways to use the £20 cashback credit being offered by the Daily Telegraph to many American Express cardholders – click here.

There is a similar offer available from the Financial Times. If it is available on one of your American Express accounts, you will be offered £25 cashback if you spend £30+ at ft.com by 28th March.

Remember that you need to click ‘Save to Card’ to activate the offer. It is not automatic.

I had a dig around on ft.com and found two packages that would work nicely with this. Both are for the print, not digital, editions.

One year of FT Weekend for £99, reduced to £74

Via this link, someone living within the M25 – or selected other parts of the UK – can have FT Weekend delivered to their door by 7am every Saturday. If you are outside the delivery area, you can receive vouchers to use at your local newsagent.

The standard annual subscription rate for FT Weekend is £177, but the link above is a limited time special offer at just £99 before cashback.

FT Weekend is, by a decent margin, the most intelligently written newspaper package in the UK. At £74 after American Express cashback, you are paying just £1.42 per week as opposed to £4 in the shops – and it is delivered to your door in many cases.

Three months of the FT (six days per week) for £50, reduced to £25

Alternatively, via this link, you can get a three-month print subscription to the Financial Times – all six weekly editions – for £50. This reduces to £25 after the Amex cashback.

This is a home delivery deal if you live within the M25. It doesn’t appear to offer a voucher alternative, unlike the FT Weekend deal above.

This works out at the grand price of 32p per copy!

This is an introductory deal, so you need to cancel after the three months to avoid an automatic renewal at £93.60 per quarter.
