I’m not totally sure if this is unsold stock from the High Life Shop. We’ve already seen Brewdog selling off its British Airways beer and Pickering’s selling off its British Airways gin. The ’round’ original prices of £10 and £19 suggests that they may have been destined for duty free sales.

    Picked up a Daewoo convector heater there the other day, £12.00. On Amazon, identical model, £23.
    
    Apart from the low prices, I find Home Bargains stores very well laid out, and I’d assume particularly easy for elderly and disabled people to manoeuvre around.

    Whilst Home Bargains might not engage in ‘aggressive tax planning’, technically neither did Apple. Even though Apple used the double tax treaty network to create stateless income. Morris doesn’t need to fly BA either. As he has his own jet: M-ORIS.

  Two family members have really sensitive skin, the only detergent that doesn’t leave their skin red raw is Surcare. Circa £3.50 a box in Home Bargains, £6-£7 in the usual Supermarkets.
  
  That’s not to mention all the other surplus and short dated stock that both Home Bargains and competitor B&M manage to clear for considerably less than everyone else.
  
  Why pay £1.50 for a bottle of diet Coke at lunchtime, when you can fill your office treats drawer with bottles of Bundaberg or Fentimans premium drinks at 25p a bottle.
  
  Similar in summer, why mess around with 3 for 2s on sunscreen at Boots when you can buy one bottle of a premium brand at 2/3rds of the price…

Rob, I think the company (Premier Portfolio) who sources these products has gone onto liquidation. Great bunch of lads but 98% of their sales were to airlines and duty free stores.

  Best to check the cash price v using points. Remember that Hilton have 5 nights for 4 when using points. Why do you want to upgrade room? Do you have status?

  I was upgraded from basic category to Deluxe room for an 8 night stay as Gold at a UK regional Hilton, I booked a further 9 nights tagged onto the end and didn’t have to change room.

  You can’t upgrade a cash stay with points as I think you are suggesting.
  
  You can use points for a premium room redemption but you only get a low value per point and no 5 for 4 discount.
  
  You may be able to upgrade a points stay with cash, but if there is a room type you *really* want then it’s best to just book it without messing.
