Happy Christmas to you and your family from all of the team here at HfP.

Long term readers will know that this Christmas Day article is generally used for people to discuss where they have flown to for a Christmas break.

This year, of course, is different. Many plans have been ruined, not just now but across the year. Whilst we are a travel site and travel is what unites us, it is important to remember that many people will be having a far worse Christmas than a lost holiday, away for their loved ones or remembering someone they lost this year.

Life cycles on, of course. Anika is just days away from the birth of her second daughter, whilst Sinead is also expecting her first child in the next few weeks. My first child was born on 27th December so I know what a heavily pregnant Chrismas is like. Rhys is off in Canterbury whilst I headed off to the Middle East for a holiday a few days before London dropped into Tier 4. When I will get back is a different question ….

I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are and whoever you are with. If you are not with anyone, you are definitely not alone in being alone.

Thank you for your support over the past crazy year. It may get worse before it gets better, but let’s focus on Easter for some sort of return to normality.

We will slowly get back into things tomorrow, with at least one article and the return of the chat thread.

With our best wishes,

Rob and the HfP team

Merry Christmas all, here’s to a much better 2021! I’m on call this year so off to work, but it’s normally a nice atmosphere there so all good 🙂

  • Lyn says:

Best wishes and hopes that everyone in the HfP community can manage to salvage at least something special out of Christmas this year, even in such bizarre times.

Merry Christmas to all. And thanks to Rob and team for all the great content this year!

Merry Christmas, a poem related to flying for you.

    Timothy Tocher

    Santa needs new reindeer.
The first bunch has grown old.
    Dasher has arthritis;
    Comet hates the cold.
    Prancer’s sick of staring
    at Dancer’s big behind.
    Cupid married Blitzen
    and Donder lost his mind.
    Dancer’s mad at Vixen
    for stepping on his toes.
    Vixen’s being thrown out—
    she laughed at Rudolph’s nose.
    If you are a reindeer
    we hope you will apply.
There is just one tricky part:
You must know how to fly.

Merry Christmas to all the HfP team and especially wishing for two safe arrivals with no delays or turbulence. The fact we are here reading and commenting day after day is testament to the quality of the site.

Chin up everyone. I have a slightly sore arm today after getting vaccine shot 1 yesterday (Bill Gates says hi BTW). Hugely busy vaccination centre with staff making sure literally every available dose got into an arm before Xmas. It’s rolling out! There is much hope and many reasons for optimism in 2021!

Have a safe and festive merry Christmas Rob and team. We canned our trip to Dubai so I’ll be interested to hear how it goes for you. This site is always my first port of call each morning so thank you for the continued excellent content. So sad we lost the majority of the 747 400 passenger fleet this year, the bubble was always my favourite.
