Happy Christmas to you and your family from all of the team here at HfP.

Long term readers will know that this Christmas Day article is generally used for people to discuss where they have flown to for a Christmas break.

This year, of course, is different. Many plans have been ruined, not just now but across the year. Whilst we are a travel site and travel is what unites us, it is important to remember that many people will be having a far worse Christmas than a lost holiday, away for their loved ones or remembering someone they lost this year.

Life cycles on, of course. Anika is just days away from the birth of her second daughter, whilst Sinead is also expecting her first child in the next few weeks. My first child was born on 27th December so I know what a heavily pregnant Chrismas is like. Rhys is off in Canterbury whilst I headed off to the Middle East for a holiday a few days before London dropped into Tier 4. When I will get back is a different question ….

I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are and whoever you are with. If you are not with anyone, you are definitely not alone in being alone.

Thank you for your support over the past crazy year. It may get worse before it gets better, but let’s focus on Easter for some sort of return to normality.

We will slowly get back into things tomorrow, with at least one article and the return of the chat thread.

With our best wishes,

Rob and the HfP team

Rob – your daily articles (delivered to me via email) keep some kind of sane normality in this crazy world we live in right now – I have enjoyed reading them when I wake up for the past 5 years. Thank you to you and the team for keeping me in the know, entertained and with an almost
-free bum on seat for my holidays for the past 5 years. Merry Christmas to you and your families. Adam

Merry Christmas to Rob and the team and my fellow commentators on here – it has indeed been a very hard year but this community has been a great help and support as we share (usually) quite similar hopes and dreams. Let’s hope next Christmas will be a return to normality and in the meantime stay safe and happy.

Merry Christmas all! Today seems a good a day as any to thank you for your great work over the year just gone. HfP has continued to provide rich, informative reading (not least providing clarification on travel restrictions better than anywhere else!). Here’s to a Virgin ANA redemption in late 21!

  • Algor says:

Merry Christmas to you, HFP Team, all contributors & readers.

Lets hope 2021 gets better sooner rather than later and we can travel hassle-free.
