Happy Christmas to you and your family from all of the team here at HfP.

Long term readers will know that this Christmas Day article is generally used for people to discuss where they have flown to for a Christmas break.

This year, of course, is different. Many plans have been ruined, not just now but across the year. Whilst we are a travel site and travel is what unites us, it is important to remember that many people will be having a far worse Christmas than a lost holiday, away for their loved ones or remembering someone they lost this year.

Life cycles on, of course. Anika is just days away from the birth of her second daughter, whilst Sinead is also expecting her first child in the next few weeks. My first child was born on 27th December so I know what a heavily pregnant Chrismas is like. Rhys is off in Canterbury whilst I headed off to the Middle East for a holiday a few days before London dropped into Tier 4. When I will get back is a different question ….

I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are and whoever you are with. If you are not with anyone, you are definitely not alone in being alone.

Thank you for your support over the past crazy year. It may get worse before it gets better, but let’s focus on Easter for some sort of return to normality.

We will slowly get back into things tomorrow, with at least one article and the return of the chat thread.

With our best wishes,

Rob and the HfP team

Merry Christmas to Rob, Rhys, the rest of the HfP Team and all the lovely HfP readership.

Thank you for your hard work during this turbulent and crazy year. Hope you will all have a restful, relaxing and calm break over the festive period. With best wishes for 2021 and beyond.

Many Christmas to the HfP team and the regulars!

It’s been a strange year. I’m pleased we got some time in the Western Cape prior to lockdown as we’ve not been away since. It’s all been about “local”: pick your own raspberries / strawberries and pumpkin patch, seeing the lavender fields. At least our garden has been looking good.

It’s been great spending more time with my family; once things are more normal I’ll be away even more than usual so making the most of it.

Booked our holidays for 2021 already so hopefully they go ahead. Now got a pile of points ready to book 2022 and hopefully get back to the Western Cape.

    All the best, G

I have my first 2021 trip due to start on Jan 4 (skiing in Bulgaria) cancelled. Promptly refunded – kudos to Balkan holidays. The second (BA 2-4-1 flights to Seoul in April) has been just cancelled and covered by HfP. I can’t face another rebooking battle with BA customer service – any tips?

So, not a good outlook at all but we still hope! Three more trips are booked for 2021 (2 moved from 2020 as stubborn hoteliers refused to refund, only to rebook). Let’s see

Happy Christmas from the New Forest, we are celebrating without my daughter who lives in Zurich but when she booked flights months ago we were hoping for the best planning for the worst. We managed our annual ski trip to Thollon Les Memes and a couple of weeks in Javea. Nashville booked for autumn didn’t happen but we are hoping for Boston this autumn.
Son in law is working in ICU, please all try to work within the rules even if they put you out…

    Merry Christmas 🎄
I hope that everyone has the best day they can.

I had to cancel (or had cancelled!) 4 trips. One of them whilst en route, I had to turn back. However I made it to Orkney in 2020, something I have been trying to do for a long time.
HfP has been great to me this year. I now have hotel status and ‘free’ nights, plenty of Avios for my travels and a trip booked to Greece for October 2021. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again to the HfP team.

Late to the merry Christmas party… As only just got going in Barbados… Escaped on the 15th.. Thanks for all the great ideas and points maximizing… The hotel I am in joins Marriott so perhaps a good points break in the future!
