Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions. With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

  I have a Beta Commercial card and a Personal Investor card, though I haven’t activated the latter. Is it possible to run two Curve cards in the app?

    yes the commercial card stays active until you activate the other card. I can use both at the moment – commercial one for instore & online. New one for online & Apple Pay I think

I know this has been done to death but just had BA CW flights cancelled for Cancun in January with no alternative offered. We got these flights in the 50% Avios sale and used a 2-4-1. What are you options going forward? Thanks.

  If you still wish to go then BA have a duty of care to get you there. If not, you can either reschedule (in agreement with BA) to other dates OR you get a full refund.

      I think we should call this daily thread the Groundhog thread.
      
      I soooo want to just reply “Cheep cheep” to some posters who haven’t bothered to check even posts already there same thread same day. “Cheep cheep” as in I’m a bird in then nest, feed me.
      
      At the HfP party before last, at the Renaissance (Can anyone remember that long ago ?) I did mention I might just post “Cheep cheep” to one of these posts but both @Cat and @Polly thought this would be rude (refined ladies that they are whereas I’m a rough Antipodean).
      
      I did let rip one day and asked someone would they like a spoon with that when they really were not making any effort. That was most satisfying but I suspect I nearly got banned 🙂

So, is there a Heathrow strike today or not? (the strikes that were planned for 14, 16 & 17 Dec, not the later ones which have been recently announced).

No news articles about it (since the articles several weeks ago) and the Heathrow departures board looks like almost no cancellations/delays.

Just wondering as my partner has a flight booked for this Friday, which was supposed to be one of the strike days.

Morning all

Upgraded green to platinum amex online in October (as soon as I received the green card) and have met the 4k spend 3/4 weeks ago now, anyone having similar issues? I’ve upgraded a few times through this route and if the counter doesn’t appear, the 20k points don’t either when you met the spend

      Only recently opened – doubt many will have made it there since restrictions lifted. Usual issues being on The Palm (eg the intense difficulty on getting on and off due to traffic which means you may feel trapped) but you really can’t argue with pricing here.

        @TG Loyalty I doubt he can offer price that includes dinner as well for more than 50% off best flexible, but it’s always worth checking (especially with 3 for 2 offer). Also Andaz is closer to the city than some other properties.

        It’s not £103 until May 21.
        
        What do you get for dinner? Buffet, set menu a AED value each etc of course for £130-160 it probably doesn’t matter.
