Last call for bonus Avios points on hotel transfers

Tomorrow, 9th December, is the last day to transfer selected hotel points to Avios and receive a 30% bonus.

This year, it is a very poor selection of partners. The only programmes offering the 30% Avios transfer bonus are Radisson Rewards and IHG Rewards Club.

Let’s look at the points needed for a high category room redemption, which I am assuming is worth £250 a night.  The Avios conversion does not include the 30 per cent bonus.

IHG Rewards Club – 60,000 to 70,000 points = 12,000 to 14,000 Avios or a £250 room

Radisson Rewards – 70,000 points = 7,000 Avios or a £250 room

As you can see, transferring Radisson Rewards points to Avios is a terrible deal, even with a 30% bonus, unless you are sure you will never use them for a free night.

IHG is better value but I would still recommend you try to use your points for a free hotel room if you can.

“ It stacks with the current Radisson bonus…”

And as a reminder, possibly with an Amex offer you may have saved to your card (I haven’t checked, but I don’t think it’s expired yet)

    • Guernsey Globetrotter says:

I had this offer and plan on using it (£50 off on £150 spend) by pre-paying for a stay booked for late 2021 – it expires 31/12/20
