We have decided to run this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions. With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

Hilton honours query – if you book say three rooms at the same time for the same night, do you get treble night credits or is it only treated as a single night credit? Might be a struggle to hit Platinum for the end of the year but considering booking an extra room to get some more credits. Thanks

  If I don’t hit 30 nights this year and finish them off next year (albeit without the double nights bonus) will that status also last to 2023 or do you need to hit it before Jan 2021?

    Yes. You’d get the rest of the current year, all the next year (22) and 3 months of the following year (23) as per normal.

  Just done £2k. Used self service and did a mix of Morrison’s and Amazon. All activated fine. Pretty sure the offers will come back in the next few weeks anyways. Pre covid the discounts would appear on a monthly basis between 5,7 and 10%.

  I’m only at 25k annual imit on curve, I’ve not used the morrisons 10% (working from home lethargy) and have a zero balance since the summer on virgin, feel happy if I get 2 amex shop smalls and cancelled hilton card weeks before it was pulled.

  Assuming you did 32 x £250 Morrison’s then that’s quite ballsy unless you’re happy to do all your grocery shopping at Morrison’s for the foreseeable! Definitely not beyond the realms of possibility that they pull 3rd party GC’s (or the decent ones like JL & Amazon which will have <1% margin on them) if they twig what’s been going on.
