When can I travel?

Whenever you want, as long as reward seats are available. Bookings are available as far out as Virgin Atlantic allows booking, which is currently 20th October 2021.

Can I cancel these tickets as usual?

Yes, subject to the usual cancellation fee. You should note that if you need to change the date of your flight, it will reprice at the full Points cost and you would need to pay extra.

Can this be combined with Virgin credit card vouchers?

Yes. You can use your Virgin Atlantic Mastercard vouchers, explained in our credit card review here, to upgrade redemptions booked under this offer or as a 2-for-1, effectively netting you two tickets for 25% of the usual rate!

  • Zoe says:

Hmm, I usually expect to empty my dishwasher while I’m hold. My house might be spring cleaned by the time I get through today.

    • Choons says:

I spent 80 mins in the home gym last night on hold listening the Verve, among other things.

  • Martin says:

Question. If I book a family of four redemption trip to Los Angeles (bargain at 100,000 points and £800 in eco classic at the moment) for August 2021, and nearer to the time it becomes apparent that covid restrictions are still in place, how would I take advantage of the flexible booking offer and book for the following August? Flights for August 2022 wouldn’t be released until Sept/Oct 2021 surely???

    • Rob says:

Does this apply to mileage tickets? Won’t they just expect you to pay the £30 and cancel?

      • Martin says:

According to the last line it does apply to mileage tickets ….

This policy applies to all ticket types (including those that would normally be non-changeable) and all booking classes (including Economy Light) on all routes in Virgin Atlantic’s international network, and for tickets booked with us on our codeshare flights including on partners Delta, Air France and KLM. Your flight number will begin with the letters “VS”. It also includes Flying Club redemption bookings.

  • pigeon says:

Ultimately VS nearly went bankrupt and is now selling services for a third of their normal price. Do you really think this is going to end well for the punters?

BA is now price-matching on some routes and cabins.

  • Sina says:

Tried booking UC to Delhi after waiting 2.5 hours on the phone, and was told can not combine this promotion with companion vouchers! three hours of my life I would not get back! she told me it’s in the terms & conditions!

    • Reney says:

1 hour and 18 mins later was told the same. When I said I read online some people have managed it, I got a sarcastic addition of I could also read all sorts about Covid online, it doesn’t make them true.

    • Mo says:

Best to just call again, ofc will likely be a long wait unless you call very early but worth it for this deal I think.

I just put my phone on mute, leave it on the side and do other stuff until I hear somebody pick up

      • tom1 says:

the VS website specifically states you can use companion and upgrade vouchers -theres even a worked example in the T&Cs at the bottom

  • Shaun Ferguson says:

I wonder if should cancel my July flights then rebook?

  • Mco says:

Not looking forward to playing the HUCA lottery when there are 2+ hours hold times to use the 2-4-1 voucher.

    • Reney says:

I got a super lovely lady on the phone on my second go, so completely worth it after the really rude guy on my first call. All booked, finger cross that the trip actually goes ahead.

  • Gary Colclough says:

Jamaica shows loads of availability for MBJ, VA website the pay miles button is greyed out

  • Chrisasaurus says:

Seems vailability of points redemtions has vanished, everywhere – was loads to the west coast this morning but it’s now 80kmiles+

    • Chrisasaurus says:

      Can’t see rationale though – LHR-SFO was 57500+ 500ish in charges two hours ago – it’s now 77000 + 700ish in charges. Same flight/dates

Any ideas? or some other reason why even the charges would have gone up by £200ea? Even if the Miles changes aren’t the charges fixed?
