British Airways to re-open Galleries Club North lounge in Terminal 5 from Monday

British Airways has announced via its website that the Galleries Club North lounge will reopen on Monday.
It is ironic that, whilst the current lockdown regulations specifically talk about airport lounges and the fact that they can remain open, few have chosen to do so. I believe that the Lufthansa lounge in Heathrow Terminal 2 is open and serving food and drink.

The lounge page of ba.com says:
“We have listened to your feedback and we’re happy to announce that from Monday, 16 November, we will be re-opening our Galleries North Club lounge as a customer waiting area with a reduced selection of grab and go items.”
Whether ‘grab and go’ means that you will not be allowed to eat the food in the lounge – and must take it outside onto the concourse – is not clear.
The linked FAQ says:
“During the UK national restriction period, you’ll still be able to enjoy your time in our lounge. So help yourself to our grab and go items while you’re there and sit back and relax.”
The implication here is that you are meant to take the items away with you, but BA doesn’t really mind if you don’t.
Opening hours will be from 5am to 10pm.
