We have decided to run this daily chat thread on Head for Points during the coronavirus outbreak.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the de facto repository for random comments and questions. With the news flow being lighter, we are running fewer ‘Bits’ articles.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are at home, we want the HfP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as it keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

I might regret posting this but for Mr & Mrs Smith fans, Eckington Manor in the Cotswolds seems to have award some availability for 40k points pn. 30 day cancellation policy though. Looks idyllic!

        @Anna it does look like that, but when you click cancel it a pop-up appears with contact Customer Service or Dismiss.

I read on the qatar airways website that any tickets bought/ticketed before the 31st of December 2020 you are allowed to have unlimited date changes and also destination changes. Have a look on their website!

    It has to be in the same booking class, though there seems to be some flexibility with that (I changed mine to a date without the same booking class being publicly available but I wasn’t charged anything).
    
    Did you say you requested to change the date to December 2021? I wouldn’t imagine that would be possible given there’s no schedule released that far in advance. Perhaps that’s why they advised you to hold on to the ticket?

My BA Tier Point status collection is due to expire on December 8th. Did I read that all tier point expirations were being extended by 1 year?
