Conrad opening a new hotel resort in Rabat, Morocco

Conrad, Hilton’s upscale brand, has announced a new resort in Morocco, in the coastal city of Rabat. An image is below.

It will be part of a luxury hotel and residential complex set 15 km outside the city centre “surrounded by lush green gardens, ocean views and scenic walks.”

According to Hilton, the almost-boutique sized 120 room hotel will have an elevated waterfront location overlooking a lagoon and beach. There appears to be a lot of meeting space implying a tilt towards the conference and events, rather than tourist, market.

As the hotel is due to open next year, construction is presumably well advanced with the developer choosing to bring in an operator late in the process.
