Get a 25% rebate on Radisson Rewards hotel redemptions

Radisson Rewards, the loyalty scheme for Radisson, Park Inn and Park Plaza, is offering a 25% rebate on all redemptions.

You MUST register in advance here.

This is NOT the same as a 25% discount. You end up at the same place, but the rebate requires you to have enough points in your Radisson Rewards account to pay the full price. You will then get 25% of the points returned to you within 10 days of check out.

Here are the terms:

Book by 25th October
Stay by 20th December
Category 1 hotels are excluded
Only 100% points redemptions count

I generally value Radisson Rewards points at 0.33p. In theory, this promotion increases that value to 0.44p. In reality, given that hotel rates are soft at the moment, you may not be much better off than you were.

Remember that Radisson Rewards is one of the best value American Express Membership Rewards redemptions. (Our list of the best Membership Rewards deals is here.) You get 3 Radisson points for every 1 Amex point, which is theory means you should get 1p of value per Membership Rewards points.

PS. There is a parallel deal to get a 15% discount on redeeming your Radisson Rewards points for gift cards. This is not a great deal, even with the discount, and not recommended unless you have a small number of points you are unlikely to use.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (December 2021)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards. These include:

American Express Preferred Rewards Gold (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 20,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 60,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for your first year and also comes with two free airport lounge passes.

The Platinum Card from American Express (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 30,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 90,000 Radisson Rewards points

American Express Rewards credit card (review here, apply here) – sign-up bonus of 5,000 Membership Rewards points converts into 15,000 Radisson Rewards points. This card is FREE for life.

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate. The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

I’m hoping to spend a couple of days in New York next June (speculative, I know!) and was wondering whether anyone had a view on whether the Conrad Downtown or Conrad Midtown is better?

If I pay for a room by purchased points the CD is £218.40 a night (versus £340.38 a night paying cash) and the CM is £370.50 a night (versus £541.08 a night paying cash). I don’t mind paying extra for the CM if it’s worth it, but the only advantage seems to be a slightly bigger room and a better location, with the latter not much of an issue given you can access Fulton Station via Occulus from the CD.

Any comments are greatly appreciated!

      June is fine if you go somewhere with a rooftop pool. I had a very pleasant stay at Soho House (the meatpacking one) in June many years ago.

        Midtown looks good from the pics (and location is good) but I’ve only ever stayed at Downtown. Downtown location is much improved now the World Trade Centre development is just about done and the new malls open.

  I stayed at the Conrad Midtown September 2019. The rooms were large, with a good size sitting room, the public areas very small, the seating was non existent. When we stayed the restaurant and bar were not yet fully open so we got a F&B credit. The Food via room service really was excellent quality. I suggest you ask for a high floor as the views on the lower floors are not great. Location wise, very good for Central Park South.

    For comparison, I also stayed at the Kimpton Eventi and the Intercontinental Midtown earlier this year, the public areas much bigger in both hotels, in the case of the intercontinental much bigger and grander, but significantly smaller rooms than the Conrad in both cases.

      I stayed at the Warwick hotel – never again – for 2 weeks in 2018 for work and then had a couple of nights at the end at Conrad Downtown when my wife came out. CD was decent and transport links OK – the trouble with NY is getting across the avenues so ended up taking cabs to restaurants anyway. Location wise better off in Midtown. Wanna stay at CM when go next. I recommend Momofuku Ko – great food and best non alcoholic drink I’ve ever had.

Hilton status question please. Received gold status from Amex plat this August. Will I have Gold until next Dec if I don’t renew Plat? And is there a soft landing?
Looking to buy points, but less attractive if I lose status.

  You can contact Hilton and they will tell you when your membership is valid till. But it’s not Jan – Dec like IHG, it’s either from the month you got the status or from April – March so you may well keep it beyond next year. I’ve lost track because I’m lucky enough to have the HH visa and put enough spend through to keep me at gold.

  Yes you should have gold until atleast Feb 2022. might even go beyond that as it’s not always downgraded after an upgrade with platinum
