2,000 lucky holders of The Platinum Card from American Express are about to get themselves a very generous offer indeed – £400 of free Marriott International hotel stays.

This new offer has just launched. Only 2,000 people are able to register.

If you have The Platinum Card, I STRONGLY recommend that you look at your online offers page IMMEDIATELY. If you see this offer, click ‘save to card’. It will disappear as soon as 2,000 people have saved it.

American Express Amex Platinum card £400 free Marriott stays

I do NOT have this offer. It is possible that this is one for non-Londoners.

Do I really get £400 of free stays?

Yes. Here are the terms:

Spend £400 and get £400 cashback

You must stay by 23rd November

Valid at participating hotels

£400 of free Marriott hotel stays

What hotels are ‘participating’?

Not many, unfortunately. However, they are all very high end and you’re in for a treat with your free £400.

In the UK, your options are:

I live in London. This is pointless for me.

No it isn’t. Assuming that you simply don’t just fancy a change of scene, how about this?

Book the cheapest room you can find, and then spend the difference up to £400 in the hotel restaurant and bar. Go home at night if you must, then pop back to check out the next day.

Think of all the Marriott Bonvoy points you’ll earn as well.

There are numerous non-UK options too although only two German hotels are outside the UK quarantine rules.

If you are targetted for this offer, you are in for a great short break. Enjoy.

PS. On Tuesday, I hope to run another article showing the special benefits that you will get if you book via our hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas.

Got it on my Platinum. Live in Croydon

  • s879 says:

Could this offer be used for spa/beauty treatments?

    • s879 says:

Without actually staying at the hotel I meant.

      • TGLoyalty says:

It’s difficult to say as they have to put it through the hotels system and something the restaurants / spa have separate tils. You could ask the front desk to open you a folio so you can charge stuff and pay altogether but no idea if they will without phoning to ask first.

      • Voldemort says:

        Nothing on my end, gutted!

  • Dave says:

I’ve got it although given I live in London I’m not totally sure I’ll get to use it!

    • Rob says:

You’re a mug if you turn down a free night in a luxury hotel with free dinner and as much free booze from the bar as you can stick on the bill to reach £400.

Free breakfast and other goodies if you book via Emyr.

      • Dave Harper says:

That’s true Rob, I wasn’t really thinking of it like that! Was thinking more of it being somewhere to stay for a night or two but if I can have a nice meal and drinks just by putting it on the room then yeah makes sense!

      • Alex M says:

Rob, what do you mean by free dinner – charge to the room, right?

        • Rob says:

Yes. If you can get a room for, say, £150 then you’ll have £250 to spend on food, drink, spa etc to charge to the room. Book via Emyr or FHR and you’ll get 2 free breakfasts and some (more) hotel credit too.

      • Kai says:

How do i book via Emyr?

      • simpletastes says:

Maybe he has a staffed townhouse in Central London? Rob, I think you live in a pretty posh location as well. There will be many for whom a luxury hotel stay will be a step down from their principal residence. I live in fairly modest accommodation and I’m not even sure if staying at the Bulgari would really be all that enjoyable, especially if it not a different city or location.

        • Rob says:

As I said, take the free dinner, go home, pop back for a slap up free breakfast and check out and bank the 5,000+ Bonvoy points on top!

  • Graeme2 says:

    Got it! Thanks Rob!

  • sarah says:

well, i’m having a bad morning. i saved the offer, but then realised i’d lost my card as i noticed a dodgy transaction. cancelled my card and now the offer hasn’t mapped across. (neither have any of the others i’d saved).

    • Andrew says:

They should do. Maybe not instantly but they always do map to the new card number.

      • sarah says:

Thanks Andrew, that’s reassuring, especially as their is a bit in the FAQ that says that that might not happen!

    • sarah says:

customer service have put in a request for it to be manually added so figures crossed. Does anyone have a list of all the hotels (not just uk)?

    • Jonathan says:

I’ve had this before. Offers should transfer over (although they won’t appear on the App). Call Amex once you have new card & they will be able to confirm it’s available.

    • TGLoyalty says:

They will reappear in a couple days.

  • Nick says:

Still nothing for me, must be the only person not getting it !

  • A350 says:

I didn’t get it either 🙁 So you’re not alone! Shame as would’ve been great. Keeping fingers crossed that it’ll trickle through later on…

    • Nick says:

I contacted Amex but just got a cut and paste reply about offers being targeted on location and spend patterns, and how in the future they will be more exciting offers; I look forward to a 5% discount off Bespoke Blinds next month then…….

      • A350 says:

LOL! I know exactly what you mean. Maybe it’ll come through, if not, never mind, maybe something in store for us in the future! 🙂

  • NigelT says:

In the Terms and Conditions it says book direct at Marriott.com so not sure if booking with Emyr would work

    • Rob says:

If you pay on departure it makes no difference. Amex is looking for a charge from the hotel, it has no idea how you booked.

      • Harry T says:

Rob is right, I reckon. These offers are always coded based on the hotel charging you.

        • Nick says:

I agree, but this one is very high stakes so I’m not sure how willing I’d be to gamble. Hopefully someone will report back from here first.
