Got Amex Platinum? Get £400 of TOTALLY FREE Marriott hotel stays

2,000 lucky holders of The Platinum Card from American Express are about to get themselves a very generous offer indeed – £400 of free Marriott International hotel stays.

This new offer has just launched. Only 2,000 people are able to register.

If you have The Platinum Card, I STRONGLY recommend that you look at your online offers page IMMEDIATELY. If you see this offer, click ‘save to card’. It will disappear as soon as 2,000 people have saved it.

American Express Amex Platinum card £400 free Marriott stays

I do NOT have this offer. It is possible that this is one for non-Londoners.

Do I really get £400 of free stays?

Yes. Here are the terms:

Spend £400 and get £400 cashback

You must stay by 23rd November

Valid at participating hotels

£400 of free Marriott hotel stays

What hotels are ‘participating’?

Not many, unfortunately. However, they are all very high end and you’re in for a treat with your free £400.

In the UK, your options are:

I live in London. This is pointless for me.

No it isn’t. Assuming that you simply don’t just fancy a change of scene, how about this?

Book the cheapest room you can find, and then spend the difference up to £400 in the hotel restaurant and bar. Go home at night if you must, then pop back to check out the next day.

Think of all the Marriott Bonvoy points you’ll earn as well.

There are numerous non-UK options too although only two German hotels are outside the UK quarantine rules.

If you are targetted for this offer, you are in for a great short break. Enjoy.

PS. On Tuesday, I hope to run another article showing the special benefits that you will get if you book via our hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas.

I think something is up with my Platinum, I’ve not had any new offers for a long time. Only have 2 on the account currently. One for Hello Fresh and the other for Tordoffs Wines and Hampers.

    • Ian M says:

and zero offers on my BA and Bonvoy cards..

    • MD says:

That’s a bummer. Have you tried removing the card from your online account (or even closing the online account) and then re-registering the card (or setting up a new online account)? Some people on here have claimed that wakes it up.

For reference, I currently have 74 offers on my Platinum, similar number on my other half’s supp! Clearly their excuse about any given offer bring targeted is nonsense.

  • Alex M says:

Got it and in London. Any way to stack it with SLH 100£ off 350£ spend offer?

  • Grant says:

Thanks Rob, the only additional caveat I’ve noticed is that you must hit the £400 threshold also – i.e. spend £399 and you don’t get it!

    • Rhys says:

Shouldn’t be so hard when it is all free money 🙂

      • Kai says:

Hi Rob, can I book the room on marriot.com (full prepayment) or do i have to book through a third party travel agent to pay at check out as the offer states check out spend only??

        • Rob says:

For 100% certainty, do NOT prepay because the rules say ‘pay at check out’.

However, it is VERY likely that pre-paid rooms via marriott.com will also count because the hotel takes the payment directly. Do NOT use a third party agent as they will take payment, not the hotel, and you get nothing.

          • Fabien Dini says:

thanks. so we just need to book a refundable rate and this will work?

          • Rob says:

You mean a pre-paid refundable rate? It SHOULD work, if Marriott is still letting you do this. If it doesn’t work, you can cancel and rebook a ‘pay on departure’ rate.

          • Fabien Dini says:

sorry I don’t see this type of rate.
Would any rate under the deals and packages work? for example, for the W, the All In, self parking, see Rate details or the member’s rate?

          • Rob says:

100% yes if paid at check-out. 99% yes if prepaid.

    • Andrew says:

Bottle of water from the minibar.

  • Pawel says:

Does Emyr have offers for marriot family?

  • VP says:

Rob I suggest you to run an article soon mentioning which of the hotels covered by this offer are available via Emyr for extra benefits as I believe both can be combined as you pay at the hotel.

  • Dan says:

Got it, Herts, that’s my birthday sorted with not much scope to get out of the UK!

  • MinR says:

I haven’t got it sadly, Midlands postcode. For those that have – are you close to your renewal month for your Platinum?

  • MD says:

Got it with a W1 postcode, thanks Rob.
