What hotels are ‘participating’?

Not many, unfortunately. However, they are all very high end and you’re in for a treat with your free £400.

In the UK, your options are:

I live in London. This is pointless for me.

No it isn’t. Assuming that you simply don’t just fancy a change of scene, how about this?

Book the cheapest room you can find, and then spend the difference up to £400 in the hotel restaurant and bar. Go home at night if you must, then pop back to check out the next day.

Think of all the Marriott Bonvoy points you’ll earn as well.

There are numerous non-UK options too although only two German hotels are outside the UK quarantine rules.

I just saved this to my card as it was showing at 1232 BST, and I’m in London! Maybe because I rang up to complain about another devaluation of Platinum benefits last week (Global Dining Collection gone).

    Emyr will get you $100 per room credit plus free breakfast. You could therefore book up to £280 per room, on the basis that Emyr’s $100 credit would double up. Whatever you paid below £280 would go towards dinner.

      I tried this for the RC Abu Dhabi last week – Emyr said that the hotel would refuse the 2nd credit if it was the same family staying!

    There is an £80 extra person fee even to add one child. I think it is best for couples! The rooms are over £730 for people with one child. The rate shown on calendar is around £600 but that excludes taxes and extra person charge.

Anyone know if I can book on behalf of my parents? I have it on my card (based in Southern Germany), but unlikely I will be able to use within deadline. Can I book a London hotel and instruct them to charge my card (and provide all details etc.)

Hi everyone, so for this offer, do I book on Marriot.com with full prepayment or do I have to book through an agent (booking.com etc) to pay at check out? I’m a bit confused as the offer states check out spend only.

  You book with Marriott, but you wouldn’t want to book a prepaid rate. There are refundable rates on Marriott.com

      Yep, but what if there is a local lockdown, UK is put on the quarantine list, Germany is put on the UK’s quarantine list. Nobody should be booking anything non-refundable at present and prepaid rates are usually non-refundable.
