SOLD OUT: British Airways selling 747 Club World return flights for £999 return

Today, as you have probably heard as the well-oiled British Airways PR machine is operating at full effectiveness, the final two British Airways Boeing 747 aircraft left Heathrow for the last time.

We will have some photographs tomorrow. Media were not invited to the event, except for TV crews from the BBC and Sky, so we are reliant on BA’s feed. I do have this shot from my friend in Fulham as one went over his house though 🙂

Finally they managed to flog all those 747 £999 seats! Only took most of the day. Sign of the times – a year ago they would have been gone in 20 minutes. And of course 90% will be turned into a voucher at some point next year. But that’s another three quarters of a million quid in the BA pot – not bad for a day’s work for marketing.

    • Jay says:

It certainly didn’t take ‘most of the day’. This article came out, 30 mins later I was ticketed to Cape Town, an hour later there were no fares below £4k (I got INV-LHR-CPT-LHR-MAN for £710).

Not all destinations on sale were the US, and some people hold passports that allow them in! Weird tone in your comment!

      • Harry T says:

Damn, £710 is good! I managed £1100 from and back to NCL with car hire for the whole trip.

        • Harry T says:

I also found my dates sold out very very quickly.

          • Polly says:

Yes, missed our SEA J ones in March, as l was distracted by other issues at home. Gone when l tried an hour later. Now happy with a 241 F/J for 1/4 the avios needed to SEA. If we ever get there that is.
Great sale for those who got tkts tho.
Agree with you, and l mentioned it elsewhere. The cs agents l have dealt with the past few days couldn’t have been more helpful, whether UK or India based. More importantly knew what they were doing, and got everything sorted l phoned up about. Happy campers here.
Now to hope that Malaysia opens up by Feb 1st. Did JER start for both itineraries. Should be interesting…know IVN works for you H.
