Where can you fly from London City with our free parking offer? (and offer dates extended)

Yesterday we launched an exclusive offer with London City Airport.

If you book a flight via the London City Airport booking portal before 28th September – book here or click the ad at the top of this page – you will receive up to seven days of free parking.

There some confusion over the dates yesterday. For clarity:

Free parking at London City Airport

you need to book your flight by 28th September

you need to book your parking (using the voucher code that will be emailed to you) by 31st October

you can fly and park at any point up to 31st December 2021

The offer is limited to the first 100 people to book. However, we will update this article if we reach the limit. We guarantee that if you book whilst the offer is still showing on HfP, you WILL get your free parking voucher.

Full details of the offer are here on the London City Airport website. You can also find out more in our article from yesterday.

It would help if you created a couple of columns here. One saying if you had to quarantine on arrival at the destination, if forms and tests results were needed etc, and another if you had to quarantine when you got back to the various 4 countries (when did they suddenly become “countries”) of the UK.

I’m finding it so hard to find somewhere to go abroad that doesn’t have issues that I’m seriously considering using my holiday time to stay home and read a book!

    • Peter K says:

Trouble is, such a list could be out of date by later today the way things rapidly change across the world.

    • Rhys says:

      Germany doesn’t have issues 🙂

    • MrHandBaggageOnly says:

At the time of writing, with no issue either way, you should be able to do Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt (Germany) / Florence (Italy) / Warsaw (Poland) / Belfast (Northern Ireland) / Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow (Scotland).

For a lovely autumn break, Florence stands out, but all of the cities on this list a worth a visit (some for longer than others).

Agree, take the Isle of Man for example, their borders are closed to non residents.

    Hi Rob,

I think this was a great idea to try and encourage more leisure flying – especially, as you said, about a full family car.

Would be great to see it rolled out to other airports – especially Scotland 😉

But fascinating that the 100 spaces still haven’t been snatched up by HfP’ers. We all love a bargain and we all love travelling – but yet something seems to be holding back south-east viewers?

    • ChrisC says:

I don’t drive so it’s not an offer for me!

But what could be an issue is booking via LCY means it’s a travel agency booking with all of the complications of dealing with flight changes and getting refunds / vouchers that would arise if there were any issues and that could also be putting some people off.

    • marcw says:

I fail to understand the target customer for this offer.

      • Rob says:

Logically someone who a) is planning to drive to Heathrow or Gatwick and run up a fat parking bill, who can now avoid that or b) someone who is unhappy travelling to City on public transport but would be tempted by free parking. Seems pretty logical to me 🙂

LCY is already a decent choice if you’re nervous about flying due to the quick check-in times and lack of hanging around, as well as smaller aircraft with fewer passengers. This also lets you reduce any concerns you have about travelling to the airport.

        • marcw says:

Doesn’t help if airline cancels flights and you have to fly from LHR then.

        • ChrisBCN says:

The ‘being in a car is safer then public transport’ is something that seems to be uttered so much yet is false.

Whilst you are of course safer from coronavirus, you are more at risk of accidents. It’s arguable which method of transport is safer.

BA LCY FAO in October? Not sure there are any BA LCY FAO this year

  • Richie says:

Half price Zipcar flex to and from LHR T5 would be a fantastic offer.
