What is e-Rewards?

If you have never heard of e-Rewards, it is an online market research company that offers incentives in return for taking surveys. If you keep your profile updated, you will only be sent surveys about topics that interest you and suit your lifestyle.

After your general ‘600 Avios for completing one survey’ sign up bonus, you earn Opinion Points for each future survey you complete. When you reach certain point levels, you can redeem your Opinion Points for more Avios.

How do you join e-Rewards?

Joining e-Rewards is very straightforward, and exclusively available to all British Airways Executive Club members.

Simply visit the British Airways e-Rewards site here and fill out your details. You must be a UK resident, over the age of 16 years and have a BA Executive Club account to join.

Once you’ve created your account you can update it with more details about your lifestyle in order to receive personalised surveys which match your interests.

If you are worried about your data, e-Rewards privacy Policy states that they

‘only share your responses with the survey sponsor and you’ll have complete control over what information you share from your account. […] Any information you provide will be strictly used for research purposes only and is kept completely anonymous.‘

How to fill out surveys

You will receive emails with links to surveys you qualify for, based on your interests. You can also log into your account and browse available surveys. The more information e-Rewards has about you, the more surveys you will be able to take.

Some surveys have a small pre-qualification section, where the first few questions are used to check more closely whether you are the right sort of person that the survey sponsor is looking for. You may be told after a few minutes that you do not qualify. If this happens, you might want to look at your profile and see if you can add some information to help e-Rewards target you more closely.

For longer surveys, where the pre-qualification stage takes a little longer, you will receive a small amount of points if you do not qualify to take the full survey.

Surveys usually take around 15 minutes, and you will see an estimate of how long a survey takes before you start filling it out. It can work well if you have ‘dead time’ whilst commuting, or if you want to multi-task whilst watching TV!

How to earn Avios with e-Rewards

You will receive 600 Avios after completing your first survey. After that you will be earning ‘Opinion Points’ which can be redeemed for Avios. The minimum transfer is 1,200 Opinion Points for 250 Avios, although the transfer rate improves if you convert in larger quantities.

The table below shows you how many Opinion Points are needed to earn different amounts of Avios.

It can take up to 35 days for your redeemed Avios to appear in your British Airways Executive Club account.

Conclusion

600 Avios for completing one e-Rewards survey is a decent reward for signing up and giving their surveys a go.

You may or may not decide that, long term, the Avios rewards are worth your time. e-Rewards does have a lot of loyal members and, if you find yourself with chunks of dead time, such as sitting on the train in the morning, feeding the baby at night or during your lunch break, it might work for you too.

I have found it a rubbish site, having spent lots of time starting questioners only to find after a few minutes that I wasn’t suitable, so got nothing. This happened so much I stopped, so I have my doubts any Avios will actually find their way to your account.

      How do you earn 4000 a month? The maximum you can redeem is 6500 points for 2000 Avios once every 30 days. You are not supposed to have duplicate accounts.

        The 2000/30 limit has been lifted recently, presumably due to lockdown. I too am getting 2000 every 4 weeks, often more, say 4000 every 6 weeks. I’ve earned thousands over the years, not sure on total, but Rewardsforthoughts shows me I’ve earned over 17,000 Avios since I’ve been a member. I’ve also had several free products sent to my home to evaluate, and keep, most food/drink and a few toiletries. And the odd cash voucher.

        They removed the limit early this year so you can redeem as often as you like. I don’t wait for the email invite; just click on any old email link and you will often find there are surveys available.

    Same experience here when I tried the Virgin route into e-rewards last year – started lots of surveys that were pushed at me only to find after answering 10 or 20 questions that I didn’t fit the required profile. Quit after eventually slogging through and reaching the first points check-out threshold.

    But at least you earn 25 points if you don’t fit the profile unlike Rewardsforthoughts. I complete 1 full survey for every 6 I attempt. It’s a useful additional way of preventing Avios from expiring. I’ve earned 16,000 Avios in the last 12 months for attempting surveys which is the equivalent of spending £10,666 on the BAPP card (excluding spend with BA).

        I’d say on average about 15 minutes a day 3 days a week. I often do them on my mobile while watching the tv. It takes me roughly 6 to 7 weeks to earn enough points for 2,000 Avios. Others seem to do a lot more surveys than me since they are claiming to earn 4,000 Avios every 4 to 6 weeks.

E-rewards have a sketchy history of freezing your account, usually once you have accrued a lot of points; all of your points are frozen and cannot be used. They do not offer an explanation, and you cannot challenge their decision. I thought I was the rare one but, after checking out the reviews on Trust Pilot I saw numerous others stating the same.

  Norwegian CashPoints surveys and IHG surveys use the same Dynata platform but the percentage of good surveys is higher and every completed survey gives you CashPoints or IHG points IMMEDIATELY, no need to wait for a conversion threshold to be reached

Tried a few surveys – after being rejected for many – but found site quite poor ie you need to continually answer the same questions at the start. The few surveys I took part in were fairly boring and poorly constructed. Got the 600 Avios so I’ll leave it there. Good luck to those who like it.
