  Qatar – if they let you change to any city within 5,000 miles for free, why wouldn’t you book say Nairobi and then swap for Cape Town?

    Like many Qatar promos, looks amazing at first but the more you dig the worse it looks. Right now I can’t find recent info but changes only allowed for travel completed by 2020.

      You are correct , flexibility is only until 31st December , – take from QR website now

      You can change your travel date or destination free of charge, as often as you need, for travel until 31 December 2020. You can change your origin to another city within the same country or any other destination we fly to within a 5,000 mile radius of your original destination.

  Yes, it’s not relevant for this article to mention the flexible booking policy when the opening line says “to travel next year” as that policy ends at the end of this year.

  Current Qatar Biz sale from Amsterdam. I was looking last night and priced up AMS to CPT for £1300, and JNB for about £1200. Q suite on both flights. Big saving flying ex eu!

  Also are you planning on running an article on Wizz air Discount Club? I see the prices advertised with it but don’t know much about it. Maybe if you’re planning on a few more articles re Wizz air might be worth it.

      I use it; I’d argue it’s worth it. Think it’s approx £25 per year.

      Save around £9 per flight, so £18 on a return – two trips in a year, and you’ve made your money back (+ a saving!). Regularly get flights at £8.99 each way (£1.49 ticket fee, £7.50 admin fee). Buy a cabin max bag to get the most out of their baggage allowance for a weekend.

  On the Qatar letting your flight dates by up to two years, is there a cost for that?
  I have a business class ex eu flight to Bangkok in December which is looking doubtful to say the least. Can I just change the dates to the same time next year with no charge or would I have to pay fare differences etx

    Re-arranging for travel completed this year at no extra cost. If you move into next year you pay the fare difference.

      Ah ok thanks. It’s all very annoying actually, I booked the flights in early January but because my flight back is at 1am on the 1st January 2021 they won’t let me change the destination in any of the flights without paying the fare difference. Do hope they might show some flexibility at so,e point for such an old pre Covid booking!

      Most persons not in the travel industry would be confused when they say “Keep your ticket and use it when you are ready with our extended ticket validity, now valid for 2 years from the date of ticket issuance for greater flexibility” and, at the same time, “You can change your travel date or destination free of charge, as often as you need, for travel until 31 December 2020.”

    Fare diff payable.
    Personally with QR I would not risk this option unless no other choice. Great experience in the air but aware they are not fully subject to our ways of doing business in Europe.

      It depends how you see. COVID-19 will be around forever.

      But these past 6 months are very likely to be the only time you’ll see a full scale global lockdown because of it.

    No because Stockholm and Gatwick aren’t in the same country. But the switch from Phuket to Bali is fine as the destinations are within 5000 miles of each other. This is only for travel until the end this year though.

      i usually do a winter month in asia and although i’m not too positive it’ll happen this year, these are good deals
