British Airways has made its another announcement about On Business, its loyalty scheme for SMEs.
(If you have your own business and you’re not an On Business member, you can read our full review here. It is a no-brainer, since you earn On Business points on top of your usual Avios.)
The last status and points extension was announced in August 2020. There has now been another announcement although not all members – certainly not HfP – have received it.

This is what has been announced now:
- your status will roll over for 2022, irrespective of how much spending you do in 2021 – this represents a second rollover, since 2020 status was extended into 2021
- there is no mention of reduced tier thresholds, so it looks as if anyone wanting to move up a tier will now need to spend the full amount in 2021 – £30,000 to reach Tier On2 and £300,000 to reach Tier On3
- no points will expire on 31st December 2021 – expiry has been pushed back to 31st December 2022 – again, this represents a second rollover
The latter one is important, because On Business points have a ‘hard’ expiry date. Irrespective of your activity or status, points usually expire after three years if not used.

If you are an On Business member, remember that you can now earn additional On Business points via the new British Airways Accelerating Business American Express credit card. You can learn more in our BA Accelerating Business review here.
