Get two nights for the price of one at IHG hotels in UK and Europe – stay by April

IHG, which owns the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and various other brands, has launched a generous ‘two nights for the price of one’ offer across Europe.

This 241 deal is called ‘More to See’.

What is especially good about this offer is that it is valid for stays up to 30th April 2021.

What is not so good is that stays booked under this offer are non-refundable unless – presumably – the hotel itself is closed.  The ‘two for one’ price is also driven off the Best Flexible Rate, so it is not a genuine ‘two for one’ offer as cheaper rates are available.

How does IHG’s ‘More to See’ deal work?

Here are the rules:

You must book between 3rd August and 24th August

You must stay between 4th August and 30th April 2021

You must book for two nights (longer stays must be booked as back-to-back chunks of two nights)

The price per night will be 50% of the Best Flexible Rate

You must pay in advance and the rate is non-refundable

You WILL earn IHG Rewards Club points and elite night credit

Are there decent deals under this rate?

Yes, without a doubt, but not strictly ‘241’.

Look at InterContinental Porto, pictured above and which was my last IHG stay (I reviewed InterContinental Porto here), for a weekend in October:

A Duplex Suite under this offer is €217 per night.

The next cheapest rate is €326 per night, so you are making a large saving.  However, this ‘Advance Saver’ rate is cancellable up to 14 days before arrival.  The question is therefore whether you are happy saving €109 per night whilst giving up some flexibility.

Of course, if you were planning to travel in the next couple of weeks, the risk profile is different to booking a few months in advance.

Don’t forget IHG’s ‘4x’ promotion either
