Virgin Atlantic refinancing talks are continuing – report

Sky News ran a long article on Saturday on the current state of the Virgin Atlantic refinancing talks.
You can read it here – there is no pay wall so I won’t repeat everything.
It also isn’t clear how much of it is accurate:
The Guardian / Observer reported yesterday that the airline was still talking to the Government about a £100 million loan, although this contradicts the Sky News piece which says that no discussions are ongoing
Sky News suggests that Delta Air Lines may be involved in the restructuring, even though Delta’s CEO has publicly said that it is banned from investment in non-US operations under the terms of its own US Government bailout
All we seem to be certain about is:
talks are still continuing, which is a positive sign
no-one appears to be panicking at the moment about the airline slipping into administration
the only options for fresh money appear to be from hedge funds, not trade investors, which is likely to cause substantial difficulties further down the line
