Regional carriers Loganair and Eastern are both launching new routes in the coming months.
Loganair has announced that it will launch its new Dundee-London City route on 6th July. This will replace a previous service to Stansted. The new route will operate six times a week, growing to as much as double daily in August, and will use a 48 seat turboprop aircraft.
Loganair will also launch Dundee-Belfast City in September.

Eastern Airways will launch both London City and Newquay from its base at Teesside airport. The London City route had already been announced but Newquay came out of the blue. These will begin on 6th July.
Eastern is also opening up new routes from Southampton Airport including Aberdeen, Belfast City, Dublin, Leeds Manchester, Newcastle and Teesside. A former franchisee of Flybe, it looks like the airline is planning to pick up some of the slack in domestic UK travel, particularly on routes such as Teesside – Newquay which can be arduous by train or car.
