A good car rental deal with Avis and Lufthansa Miles & More

If you looking to book a car for travel this Summer, Lufthansa Miles & More has an attractive deal for Avis rentals.

Here are the terms:

• Valid for bookings made by 31st May for ‘intermediate’ cars or larger
• Valid globally, except for Latin America
• Valid for rentals completed by 15th December
• 2,000 bonus miles on 2-4 day rentals
• 4,000 bonus miles on 5-6 day rentals
• 6,000 bonus miles on 7-13 day rentals
• 7,000 bonus miles on 14-28 day rentals

I tend to value a Miles & More mile at 1p so this is a decent return.  However, to get 1p you need to be redeeming for long-haul Business or First Class flights.  There isn’t much you can do with small amounts, except for transferring Miles & More miles to Heathrow Rewards at a weak rate.
