BrewDog’s ‘Speedbird 100’ British Airways beer now available for home delivery

  Speedbird is not a particularly good IPA, Brewdog Punk IPA perhaps their best and available at most supermarkets for a little over £1 a can. Enough said, this is not a good deal.

  Since it was “specifically brewed to work perfectly in the air and adapt to the reduction in taste and smell sensitivity at high altitudes”, will you have to drink it in your top floor?

  And maybe, just to enhance the experience, you could serve it in a flimsy plastic cup!

  So, erm, what’s it like then. Other BrewDog IPA’s I’ve tried have tended to be a bit too citrusy for my taste. For those lucky enough to have a CoOp nearby, to help you through the lockdowns, I recommend seeking out the shelf they reserve for breweries local to you.

    It’s similar too mist Brewdog flavour profiles but it’s got a deeper flavour than Punk IPA, kind of like treacle/toffee notes.

    Tbf, I preferred drinking Tribute in the lounges but always enjoyed speedbird on flights, so maybe there’s something in it. I wouldn’t be a buyer at that price though

  I have a few shares in Brewdog and they have decent discounts both for shareholders and general public. Ordered a mixed box of 40 bottles and cans (including Transatlantic IPA of course!) for ca 80 pounds. Not a bad deal. Even in your example a can is less than 2 quid – that’s not much for a quality beer!
  Finally it was possible to get hold of Speedbird which was not available before. Brewdog bars are closed, they produce sanitiser and it’s important to support them

  Works out at £1.80 per can.

  It’s actually a rather decent beer.

    Yea, I think its pretty good too. Tried it in T5 South lounge.

    £1.80 is the going rate in supermarkets for single cans or bottles of Brewdog.. But packs of four work out to £1.25.. So seems a bit pricey to have to pay 1.80 for a stack of 24.
