What is the current British Airways domestic flying schedule?

Despite what you might think, British Airways is still operating some domestic flights despite coronavirus.

Not many …. but some.   AirlineRoute reports that there will be 34 return flights next week, compared to almost 500 per week in early March.

If you do need to fly, here are the options for the week of 12th April.  The time quoted is the most common one but may vary:

Heathrow Terminal 5

Aberdeen – three flights per week (Mon, Thu, Fri, 08.50 from Heathrow)

Belfast – seven flights per week (07.10 from Heathrow)

Edinburgh – six flights per week (not Tue, times vary)

Glasgow – four flights per week (Sun, Mon, Thu, Sat, 10.00 from Heathrow)

Isle of Man – seven flights per week (operated by Loganair, 18.40 from Heathrow)

Manchester – seven flights per week (10.15 from Heathrow)

There is nothing from Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Jersey, Newcastle etc.

All flights depart from Heathrow Terminal 5 as British Airways has moved all its operations from Terminal 3, Gatwick and London City.

We covered the current British Airways on-board food and drink situation in this article.

In normal times it would be worth trying the Isle of Man service just to experience Heathrow via a tiny Loganair ATR42 turbo prop aircraft ….

    Why so many Manchester flights?

    • Mr(s) Entitled says:

And why only apparently one way?

      • Gareth Oakley says:

I hope BA aren’t implying people only want to leave Manchester…

        • Mr(s) Entitled says:

To the contrary, the article implies flights are only leaving London.

          • Chrisasaurus says:

Sounds like you have your answer!

          • C77 says:

To the contrary, the article states they are RETURN flights. They will therefore operate back to Heathrow once they’ve reached their regional domestic destination. The only exception being the Loganair operated IOM service which originates at IOM and returns back again upon reaching LHR.

          • Mr(s) Entitled says:

It was more of an obtuse reference to HfP only quoting departure times for flights originating in London. Surely one would either quote both or neither?

          • Rob says:

The return will usually be about 90 minutes after the outbound 🙂

          • David says:

(Except in the case of the IOM flights, which do the turn around at the LHR end.)

          • Mr(s) Entitled says:

I might be stretching the point too far to say that one person’s outbound is another person’s inbound. In my case the inbound would be about 22h30m after the outbound.

          • C77 says:

Except when in the context of this article and where the aircraft is based and the flight rotation originates. For BA this is inevitably going to be London isn’t it.

  • Save East Coast Rewards says:

IOM flights aren’t 7 days a week. I think they’re 6 days a week. Presumably because they’re usually LCY flights and LCY closes Saturday afternoon until noon on Sunday

    • Mervyn Miller says:

Actually there are normally 3 IOM-LCY rotations by BA operated by Loganair (now with an ATR-42) on every weekday (Mondays to Fridays), 1 rotation on Saturdays and 2 rotations on Sundays so a total of 18 each way per week. Not six as with Heathrow just now.

    • Rob says:

      They are into Heathrow now.

  • Michael C says:

As mentioned above, there is NO general passenger travelt to the Isle of Man at the moment, and only Manx nationals/permanent residents can apply (directly to the Government) for urgent return in the cases described.

Medical emergency flights to Liverpool are still operating on an ad hoc basis.

    • J says:

Thanks Michael I’m sure there’s a flurry of Head of Points readers rushing to escape to the Isle of Man for their Easter holidays.
