The new HFP chat thread – Tuesday 31st March

We have decided to run this new daily chat thread on Head for Points.

Historically, the daily ‘Bits’ articles were the defacto repository for random comments and questions. It is unlikely that the news flow will be so big over the next few weeks that we will need many ‘Bits’ articles, however.

The comments under this article are where you should post questions about travel and, indeed, anything else on your mind. At this tricky time, and given that many of you are stuck at home self-isolating, we want the HFP community to have a place to chat.

Please only comment under the main articles on the site if your comment is directly related to the topic of the article. This has long-term benefits as its keeps the commentary relevant for people who read those articles in the future.

By default, HFP shows the last page of comments under the article. Somehow my Curve card was used fraudulently recently (not sure how exactly but there we go) so I cancelled it and they sent me a new one. What I didn’t expect was for my Curve limits to be reset on the new card. I wasn’t in danger of hitting my annual limit but something worth bearing in mind for anyone in that situation.

Has anyone had issues getting avios from Heathrow Express journeys in the past few months? I did 2 return journeys in February and still waiting for the avios to credit.

I applied for the free IHG card just now and was accepted, but I can’t see a definitive part of the website that says the IHG card bonus is 20,000 points until 31st March. Anyone got a link?

  Saw someone mention on another thread that the bonus 10,000 point offer ended on the 30th rather than 31st. No idea if that’s accurate.

      Rob, I got my first 10k last month but didn’t receive the extra 10k in March despite overall spend > £500. Should I raise this with IHG or Creation?

have just booked a BA Holiday in Barbados in October, flights were c.£450 each return which i thought was good value – albeit Y- , and a decent hotel on top. Paid just £500 deposit. Full economy which includes a bag each and early seat selection. For five of us (2 adults 3 kids).
