Which good miles and points deals are ending today?
Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.
We have temporarily suspended our fortnightly ‘deals ending soon’ feature. The majority of the deals were flight and hotel related and there isn’t much of that going on at the moment.
We are keeping the list going in the background, and we’ll continue to let you know if you’re about to miss a deal which may be worth jumping on.
Here are the deals ending today (31st March) which are still of interest:
Get 6,000 Avios with Tesco Pet Insurance
You will earn 2,500 Clubcard points, which converts into 6,000 Avios or 6,250 Virgin Flying Club miles, when you take out a policy.
A lot of readers have succesfully applied since it launched in January, with the Clubcard points arriving on schedule after 35 days. Once you have the points, you can cancel the policy.
Full details are on the Tesco Bank website here. The offer is open to all Clubcard holders and does not say it is targeted. Note that the cheapest ‘Accident & Injury’ policies do not count.
Get 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points with the FREE IHG credit card
IHG Rewards Club has doubled the sign-up bonus on its free credit card to 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points. I would value these at £80+ so its not a bad offer. You also get Gold Elite status in IHG Rewards Club.
Importantly, the spend target is only £500 in three months which is possible even during these lockdown days.
Our full article on the doubled IHG Rewards Club credit card bonus is here.
Get bonus Avios on an Avis car rental
Avis is currently offering 700 bonus Avios if you book a rental via the Aer Lingus site. You need to give an Aer Lingus AerClub account number, but when the Avios arrive you can move them into British Airways Executive Club via ‘Combine My Avios’.
You must book today for rentals up to 31st May. This might be too early to be out and about, but the offer is there if you want to book a cancellable rate.
Details of the Avis and Aer Lingus Avios offer are in this article.
Convert Best Western, Choice and Hilton points to American Airlines
If you have any orphaned (ie too few to use for anything useful) Best Western, Choice or Hilton Honors points, today is the last day to convert them to American Airlines miles.
This only makes sense if you have an active American Airlines account of course! One upside is that it will count as ‘activity’ and extend the expiry date of your American Airlines miles pot.
This HfP article has more on this and details of the remaining American Airlines hotel partners. Note that AA has already removed the three chains from its hotel partners page.
