Coronavirus: Poland, Denmark, Slovakia and Ukraine close their borders

A new wave of countries have banned foreign visitors, including UK citizens, in the last few hours due to coronavirus:

Coronavirus in Poland

Poland will close its border on 15th March. This will be for an initial 10 day period but with provision for extensions.

Only Polish citizens will be allowed to enter the country. However, this will only be permitted if they enter quarantine for 14 days.

Denmark will close its borders on Saturday to all non-residents. This will last until at least 13th April.

Coronavirus in Slovakia

Slovakia will close its borders today. The international airports at Bratislava, Kosice and Poprad will close. This will also apply to Slovak citizens returning from abroad unless they are prepared to enter two weeks of quarantine.

Ukraine will block all foreign nationals from entering the country for two weeks from Sunday.

Thailand has brought in a complex system for UK residents which, if you choose to travel, will restrict your travel in the country and require you to report your movements and undergo regular checks. You should undertake your own research on this as, on first glance, it is too complex to summarise here.

I have a holiday to maldives coming up and I’m getting worried now.

But news is sparse for maldives atm. Flights are via Abu Dhabi on Etihad.

Personally I would not mind traveling but the issue is quarantine which is unpredictable atm.

Does anyone know anything about maldives latest. I just know 4 places/resorts were placed in quarantine.

I’m pretty angry about this. Why did humans have to spread germs when I was about to do a bucket list item.

    Because it is ironic that ppl are stocking up on hand washes and sanitizers when they still don’t wash hands after going toilet.
    
    I’m OCD so you can imagine my fury realising that this would have never happened had everyone been washing hands like me forever.

Friday’s flight Heathrow – Warsaw was full and we learned about travel ban just before take off. I was going to fly back on Sunday but booked flight to Frankfurt on Saturday to get out of the country. Will worry about refund for Sunday’s flight later.

        Curry belongs to india probably and as far as my knowledge fish and chips were first sold in England by a jewish immigrant.

What happens with this 2 week quarantine period?

Say I’ve booked a hotel for 1 night as a business trip and have to stay for 2 weeks due to rules changing overnight.
Do I stay in that hotel for free, have to pay my way or what?
Sure there are some nice places to be stuck, but others less so.

This policy will make trade harder, the economic crash worse and do absolutely nothing to stop the virus.
