Save an extra 10% on Qatar Airways sale flights TODAY ONLY

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Qatar Airways has launched a week-long sale.

We haven’t seen any pricing at the time of writing, but we’ll give it some extra coverage later in the week.

If you book TODAY, however, you will get an extra 10% off all flights booked via the Qatar Airways website or their mobile app.  You’ll need to use this link to the website and the discount code 24HOURS.

The 10% discount is off the base fare, excluding the taxes and fees.  For economy tickets, that means the 10% discount will end up being quite a bit smaller, but some decent savings will be made on Business Class tickets.

T-C-B – the 25% Avios bonus that didn’t get paid – was time to follow up yesterday – the critical period missing for our family a/cs was after 15th Nov onwards, before then 25% got paid fine. We actually got paid less than normal +5% (Premium), ie somebody appears to have got the math wrong resulting in small underpayment in Avios compared to normal and a lot less than +25%.

No big beans for us in that period but still a few hundred Avios each – so we asked for correct 25% amounts to be paid plus perhaps a small gesture for the inconvenience, let’s see how that goes but I imagine they will be perfectly happy to set us straight.

If you do it now, most of the missed 25% bonuses should be in the top 20 transactions in your BAEC a/c – plus as I mentioned, check you weren’t actually *underpaid* vs normal.

    • meta says:

I submitted my claims straight away. Got the missing points as a credit to account within 2-3 days which immediately became payable and then transferred out again with 5% bonus. It wasn’t much, but good result.

    • Chas says:

I still haven’t received the c5k Avios which I transferred on 26 Nov. On 8 they replied to my support ticket saying “allow 10 working days”, and since then they have been ignoring my follow ups. Any advice?

      • Shoestring says:

they’re sometimes a bit slow on support tickets but pretty helpful in giving you a good resolution

we must have used over 50 support tickets over the past few years and never got rebuffed/ turned down (the free £2.50 promo used to be very poorly tracked on Ebay baskets)

you could send a nudge but keep it pleasant not shirty

  • Jody says:

O/T – when booked a hotel through Amex travel, does it charge your card instantly? Am looking to take advantage of the statement credit of £50 when you spend £200, but don’t need a hotel until April.

OT – Lloyds voucher again!! Trying to use it before it expires and i’ve called the number on the email to use the voucher 4 times now in last week. Waited an hour on hold each time and get cut off. Called BA exec club and they washed there hands with it and said nothing to do with them. Going round in circles. Anyone got any tips to get through to use voucher?

    Thanks

    • Ant says:

call 03444933349 and they should be able to book your flights using the voucher. It took me about 10min to get through on Sunday morning and the lady who took my call knew what she was doing and was v efficient.

      • Matthew says:

That’s the number I’ve been on hold for ages :-(. Will try again!

        • Gerry says:

Had same experience. Eventually when I got through I was told late morning/early afternoon was best time to call.
          Good Luck.

          • Matthew says:

Finally got through this afternoon. 2.5hrs total waiting! Lady very helpful and very knowledgeable.

    • Anna says:

BA can certainly do it as the voucher is now in your BAEC account and they booked one for me last February. It sounds as though it’s a bit of a nightmare to use these last vouchers but I think someone posted recently that they managed to get theirs extended after complaining that they couldn’t get through on the phone to book it.

  • nwoody2001 says:

    OT: 241 BA Voucher Query.

Looking to book my First 241 voucher and as such and keen to get the tickets for the dates id like. HFP and other websites suggest that reward availability becomes available on line 365T from your flight. However, I’m looking on the BA Website now and there is no option to search any reward availability beyond 26th December 2020…. If its relevant im looking for LHR-MEX flights.

The dames I’m looking for are in Feb 2021 so a while yet but I thought I’d do my research early.

    Comments welcome.

    Neil

    • Anna says:

Seats are released at T-355, not 365, though they seem to be a day out this year due to the leap year. Anyway, I think availability is currently there up till 26/12. If you do a dummy booking with BA, their calendar shows you the latest date you can book.

      • Anna says:

Also, where do you want to go in Mexico? The Cancun flight departs from LGW AFAIK.

        • nwoody2001 says:

Thanks for the advice Anna much appreciated. Im looking at the LHR-MEX flight not the LGW-CUN.

          • Anna says:

Yes, realised after I posted that MEX is Mexico City! I don’t know what the demand is for this redemption but you could always use your 2 4 1 to the US and connect from there.
Also – you put “First 2 4 1”, do you mean it’s the first time you’ve use one or you want to fly in First class? F seats not always released at T-355.

  • Alex says:

OT: Looking to hire a car in Canada for 2.5weeks in September. I am over 30 however my partner is not and therefore rental prices jump up massively! Is there any sites/deals people are aware of to help keep it down? The only other option is for me to do all of the driving which is not ideal…

    • Kip says:

If you book a car in the US with Avis through BA then you get the second driver free. Might be worth seeing if that applies to Canada too.

  • Pat says:

Qatar sale? I was looking at business class fares to SYD or AKL. No discount in comparison with last week prices. In fact more expensive than most other airlines. Have promo prices not yet been loaded?

  • Shoestring says:

Virgin Atlantic are offering an extra £20 off tickets to Miami and Orlando if you use the promotional code SUNNY in Light/ Classic/ Delight. (from £235 rtn)
    https://www.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/sale.html?destination=low-fare-4&intcmp=hp_ws_mcomia_20promo

  • Andrew says:

Nothing to see here – fares are all the same if not higher than they were yesterday, even with the so call promo code.

    • Stoneman says:

      Yup. Disappointing.

      • ayearinmx says:

Flying LGW-HKT with Qatar is still more expensive booking on Qatar’s website, than booking on BA.com… even with this “discount”
