British Airways is due to receive its first Boeing 787-10 next month, to add to its existing 787-8 and 787-9 fleet. These aircraft are being delivered with the new Club Suite seat in Business Class, as well as the same 8-seat First Class cabin found on the 787-9.

These pictures, taken at the Boeing plant in Charleston, have been circulating over Christmas. I saw them credited to Zulqarnain Butt at one point but I can’t verify that – they are clearly semi-official images of some sort or another.

Once the aircraft has been accepted by British Airways, it will be used on the Atlanta route from February, on BA226/227.

The key difference between the Boeing 787-10 and the other variants is size. The 787-10 is the longest version in terms of physical length, although not flying range, and was first introduced by Singapore Airlines in early 2018.

In total, the 787-10 will have eight First Class seats, 48 Club Suites, 35 World Traveller Plus (premium economy) seats and 165 in World Traveller. This compares to 56 Club Suites on the A350 with 56 in World Traveller Plus and 219 economy seats. It will be a very premium-heavy aircraft as you can see from the seating plan here:

I’ve got the 80% IHG offer, but also a 10% discount. IE, 1000 points costs $9 instead of $10.

So 150,000 + 120,000 = $1,350

So unless the inbuilt calculator is rounding terribly – it’s identical to 300,000 for $1,500

  They need to fix the First seat (used on the 789) so it goes fully flat!
  
  Food is already pretty good. But they should look at when they serve it. On a recent 13 hour flight back from KIX leaving at 11am, lunch was served about 13h and dinner wasnt served until 22.45 (Japan time), 75 minutes before landing. They seem to always serve the second meal 75 minutes before landing, regardless of the length of the flight. Its then a rush to eat, use the washrooms, and prepare for landing.
  
  And what’s the point in having a choice of meals when they only load two of something.

    While you say it was 22:45 Japan time most would argue you want to always get yourself on your destinations time and act accordingly. But agree 75 mins before landing is too rushed, isn’t first dine on demand now days?

      And while I agree you should try to get on local time at your destination, a gap of nearly 10 hours between meals is too long. Landing was 3pm UK time, so lunch at 12.30 would have been nice.
      
      BA don’t seem to time the meal service for the destination anyway. Was served breakfast before landing in HK at 14:20, and it was a real rush to finish it in time. And BA serve afternoon tea instead of lunch when arriving in NY at 14.00.
      
      Service on BA seems to be timed for the convenience of the crew, not the passengers.

        Thst’s why they have Club Kitchen, and why it’s’almost empty most of the time. Meanwhile in First, dining whenever seems to mean when the FA can persuade you to eat.
