Happy Christmas to you and your family. I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are.

Do please post below if your travels have taken you anywhere exciting this Christmas.  I am in London, Rhys is in Canterbury, Sinead is in New York and Anika is spending Christmas in the US with her 6-week old daughter.

There is still some new content today, as we kick off a series of 12 articles covering the winners of the first Head for Points Travel & Loyalty Awards.  There will be another winner announced on Boxing Day, before full coverage returns as usual on the 27th.

If you want something to read in the meantime, take a look at our ‘Avios Redemption University‘ series and all of our flight, UK lounge and credit card reviews.

Thank you for your support over the past year.

Hi Rob and co. Merry Christmas one and all.
I vaguely remember putting that terrible picture together all those years ago.
This Christmas I’m visiting the in-laws in the middle of Siberia.
You won’t be surprised that weather-wise, Irkutsk is dependably in “White Christmas” territory.

It’s a sweet photo…enjoy, it’s on our to do list, but dread facing the cold…off to Bali and hkt end of Jan in Q suites x 2 sectors, for now, from Arn. Hope no aircraft changes tho.
      In very mild! Surrey today.
Happy Xmas and new year to all.

Happy Christmas to HFP. Currently in Sydney for the holidays thanks to the recommendation of using Qatar. Flew out from Oslo (BA LHR-OSL) at a great price in biz with 2 legs of Q-Suite. Using Qatar also means I’ll hit BA Gold for the first time, Many thanks!!

Can I ask what price you managed to get as I haven’t flown Qatar since April 2016 and all 4 of us in J from Oslo was under £3k.
I have a friend who is looking to go to Auckland in Jan 21 and o suggested ex eu should be about £3k fir 2 in J, is that about right.
He has a 241 but I suspect he’ll be struggling to compete with Qatar even with the 241…..

Our flights were to Male, not oz….oops 😉

        Hi,
Paid £2,652.40, departing Oslo 10th December and flying out of Sydney 1st January! Booked during a promotion in late September through Amex travel with Amex Plat- worked out around £30 cheaper with Amex than booking on the Qatar website in Norwegian krone.

        Happy travels!

I booked osl-doh-akl-doh-arn with Qatar at the end of July, leaving on 11 Dec, leaving on 1 Jan for £2252 each. BA RFS for the short hauls, 3 of those legs are QSuites, amazing value, zero jet lag, can’t complain. The exchange rate was awful at that time as well, if I’d booked a few months later it would’ve been more like £2k each but who knows if the fare would’ve been around then.
