Happy Christmas to you and your family. I hope you enjoy a well deserved break, wherever in the world you are.

Do please post below if your travels have taken you anywhere exciting this Christmas.  I am in London, Rhys is in Canterbury, Sinead is in New York and Anika is spending Christmas in the US with her 6-week old daughter.

There is still some new content today, as we kick off a series of 12 articles covering the winners of the first Head for Points Travel & Loyalty Awards.  There will be another winner announced on Boxing Day, before full coverage returns as usual on the 27th.

If you want something to read in the meantime, take a look at our ‘Avios Redemption University‘ series and all of our flight, UK lounge and credit card reviews.

Thank you for your support over the past year.

Merry christmas all from sunny and humid Queensland. Currently enjoying a trip around Oz taking advantage of Air China business class deals from earlier in the year.

The only excitement I had was being able to dodge the French strikes on my way to Brittany 🙂

Merry Christmas from the Villa Fontaine Hotel Roppongi, Tokyo. Great alternative to overpriced Western chains at roughly half the price.

Season greetings to the HFP team…thanks for introducing me to this world of points and miles. Posting this message from Lagos, Nigeria. Whole family of 4 flew in Club world, booked with avios and used 2-4-1 voucher. Thanks once again.

I’m in Valdez, Alaska having used 39k of my Avios to do a three flight trip from LAX to Hawaii to Anchorage and then back to LAX.

Big thanks to HFP for the tip to spend Avios on Alaskan Air because I only had to spend ~£12 on taxes and the flights are easily worth north of £600.

Now I’ve ticked off all 50 states!

For all the people abroad: Amazon Prime Video is working great (in EU at least) – currently live on Man Utd vs Newcastle

    • Lady London says:

      Is that with a VPN?

      • Shoestring says:

no VPN, I just logged in as usual

currently watching Leicester vs Liverpool on catch up

with the Wolves vs Man City game tonight

could be an EU/ EEA thing

    • Ayearinmx says:

It doesn’t work in the USA.. at least trying to watch some of my TV shows. With or without a VPN

      • Lady London says:

I would rate Amazon as the worst(or best, depending in your point of view) at detecting and blocking vpn’s. Worse even than our favourite national broadcaster who seems to have got really aggressive on this of late.

I wish Amazon would sell a multi country Prime. But given content is in Prime for each country the myriad geographical restrictions on content mean it’ll never happen. At least not so long as Prime with content bundled in is the only option.

Merry Xmas HfP and it’s readers! Just back from SoCal having taken the kids to visit the Mouse in Upper Class using 2 x Virgin MasterCard 2 for 1 vouchers. As 2 of us are VS Gold that meant we could use in Upper, saving 2 x 155k miles (as peak saeson). Charges of £600+ each but pretty amazing value given cash price was £3k+ ppa.
