    Yes, plus the winter weekend sale is coming up on 19th so anybody might want to delay a few days before booking. Trouble is, based on past experience booking now, or last week, might be cheaper than the sale. I did note some really good rates on the two most recent sales from both Hilton and IHG

  OT, can I change departure point on a 241 return leg after the outbound is completed ?

  I have DXB to LHR return in August which I did open jaw since I couldn’t find anything from SEZ. Still long way to go but if the SEZ leg open then can I pay £35 change fee and move my flight from DXB to SEZ ?

  Any tip and advice will be much appreciated.

    You should be able to because the 241 requires you to use full avios which allows you to change the route (can’t do this if you chose to use less avios and more cash).

      I had some success in changing zones (to a lesser zone) but no avios refund and it was due to a possible typhoon so not sure if that gave me some goodwill.

  OT. Accor Live Limitless starts next year. One needs 26000 status points to achieve Diamond. Although the programme doesn’t exist yet, Will I get diamond status if I get 26000 points this year? I ask because I currently have 22500 points and can get to 26000 depending on the hotel I stay at next week.

  OT – paying Brighton with curve. Using IHG card will this be limited to £100/day? If so, is the £100 limit in addition to a £100 I might use with nutmeg, ii, revolut etc, or is out a one shot per day rule? Thanks for advice.

    Cash like transactions are limited to £300 per day and £700 per week (rolling 7 days)

    All cash like transactions are treated within those limits.

    I wish I could pay Brighton with Curve but Virgin decided to give me a hilariously low credit limit after initially rejecting me. You also apparently can’t get a credit limit increase from Virgin before holding the card for six months – they don’t inform you of this fact unless you ask for a credit limit increase before the six months are up and they send you a rejection letter!

      I’ve found both Virgin and Creation for IHG cards to be quite odd in their behaviour over credit limit.

          Decreased mine and wife’s limits by 20% recently as didn’t go even close to old limit.

          Amounts from memory, but broadly correct. Got the free card and a limit of £17K, waited a bit and got the paid card with a limit of £3K. Asked to cancel the free card but to have £12K of the limit shifted to paid card, they increase paid card limit by £1K. So initially I was good for £20K, but then only £4K. Whole process seemed a bit random.

          Sounds like they are only allowed to lend a certain amount basée on capital ratios, and clearly worried about their performance on that, if they are reducing credit limits on good accounts just because they are unused.

  If any O2 mobile phone subscribers are thinking of registering their upcoming flights for the O2 Priority SmartDelay offer, then it looks like 30th November 2019 will be the last day on which to do it, according to the latest Ts & Cs. However, I think that the Ts & Cs imply – somewhat cryptically – that the flights can be taken up to the end of January 2020.

  OT – I have an Amex Platinum. Can I add myself as a supplementary card holder? Sometimes I am in a situation where it won’t be appropriate to pull out a platinum card so I am consider getting myself a supplementary green card.
