Avis has launched a generous new SAS EuroBonus promotion.

We don’t write much about SAS EuroBonus, although it is an American Express Membership Rewards partner.  This would allow you to top up any points earned via this offer to allow you to reach your target redemption.

SAS is a member of Star Alliance, which gives you a lot of flexibility when redeeming.

Until 31st March 2020 all EuroBonus members can earn 6,000 SAS EuroBonus points on worldwide rentals.

SAS and Avis special offer

You can earn the bonus up to three times, so if you have regular rentals of 4+ days then you could earn up to 18,000 EuroBonus points this way.

Here is a summary of the small print:

You must rent a Group C or above car

You must rent for four days or longer

You must book before 30th November 2019

You must pick up the car before 31st March 2020

A Blackout period applies for rentals between 16th December 2019 and 5th January 2020

You must include your EuroBonus membership number when booking

Valid for all participating rental locations across the US (North America and Canada), Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Bonus points can be earned up to three times during the promotional period

You can check out the full details on the Avis / SAS website here.

You get some other special benefits too ….

If you book via the Avis / SAS website you can also take advantage of exclusive discounts, complimentary enrolment into Avis Preferred loyalty tiers (the loyalty level depends on your EuroBonus membership level), complimentary upgrades and much more.

If you book via the Avis / SAS Eurobonus website, you will also receive a free additional driver. This can represent a decent saving and is one of key perks of the Avis / SAS partnership.

How do I book?

Avis and SAS have a dedicated booking site which you can find here and which automatically adds the correct discount code.

Full details of this offer and all of the partnership benefits are on the Avis / SAS website here.

Doesn’t come close to the 18,000 Avios offer but still pretty good. I seem to remember that with 10,000 Eurobonus points you can redeem for a hotel in London – is that right?

(Surely can’t be the first commenter at 23:33 – does no-one here care about EuroBonus?!)

Not sure what the number is, but I got a free night at The May Fair on EuroBonus!

Not relevant to the Avis aspect here, but Eurobonus is one of the few *A schemes to offer family pooling. They also award point on deep discount Lufthansa premium cabin fares, so my EB pot is healthier than my BAEC one after just one family jaunt to Asia 🙂

  • Nick Fisher says:

All I would say is be very pessimistic about getting the correct amount of points in any sort of reasonable time frame.

IME Avis are terrible at correctly awarding benefits if if you need to follow up with their CS functi9n, then God help you 😮

  • Anthony says:

Agree that AVIS needs watching like a hawk if you want to be sure of any extra benefits (avios). In the past I have had successful resolution (and some extra avios IIRC) by complaining to AVIS using their ‘BSC Social Media’ email accounts. Firstly using – socialmedia.uk@abg.com, and if no response follow up with – Social.media@bsc.avis-europe.com

Avis Iberia is offering 3000 avios at the moment
