Get 250 Membership Rewards points or Avios for £5 spend on American Express

American Express has launched a simple but effective card offer.

If you targetted, you will earn 250 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend £5 ANYWHERE, online or in-store, that accepts Amex.  This converts into 250 Avios or 250 Virgin Flying Club miles – you can see a full list here.

There is another version on British Airways American Express cards which offers 250 Avios for £5 spend.

This is, obviously, a no-brainer. Although 250 Membership Rewards points or Avios isn’t much, it requires zero effort to achieve – apart from clicking ‘Save To Card’ in the ‘Offers’ section of your online Amex statement.

It is not showing up on all cards.  Rob told me he did not get it on any of his (or his wife’s) cards, although I got it on my Amex Rewards Credit Card which we wrote about recently.

Amex says that it is available to the first 80,000 people who register for the offer, which implies that it should be pretty widely offered.
