Earn double Avios points at Bicester Village this week

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Bicester Village, the discount luxury shopping outlet in Oxfordshire, is running a special sale until 3rd November.

As part of this promotion, Bicester Village is also offering double Avios.  The standard Avios rate is 5 Avios per £4 spent.  During this sale period, you will receive 10 Avios per £4 spent.  This includes food and drink spend on site.

You do not claim your Avios in each individual store.  You need to take your receipts to the Visitor Centre who will process them in one transaction.

Bicester Village Avios

Amusingly, Bicester Village imposes a £30,000 per calendar year cap on your Avios earning at the base rate.  If you spend more than £30,000 in a calendar year (!) you will only earn 5 Avios per £20 spent above the cap.

You can find out more on this special BA page of the Bicester Village website.

Note that Bicester Village works with MANY other airline partners so if Avios is not your core focus you should still find a partner to suit you.

The talk elsewhere is now first half of 2020

    • Rob says:

      2020.

Which was obvious from the day it was announced, to everyone except Amex which has never built a UK lounge before. Club Aspire took almost 18 months and that was a conversion of an existing lounge. Amex thought they could do it in 9 months.

New Edinburgh Aspire lounge delayed yet again
        (a common theme it seems)
Now due 29th Oct unless anyone knows different?

        • Rob says:

Thanks. We are hoping to go up and have a look at this, tied in with a visit to the Signature Private Jet terminal at Luton (as they liked Rhys’ Gatwick review!).

          • David D says:

Hoping they manage to stick to that date now as looking forward to trying it out.

The Virgin offer is 4 miles per pound spent on the Virgin cc between 1st and 3rd November but this was via an email invitation.

    • Andrew M says:

Did anyone else get this? Is it definitely targeted? I didn’t get an email but I think I probably had promotional emails turned off.

      • Andrew says:

        Received Via Virgin Red:-

IHG Rewards Club points for event tickets: in case you are wondering, Disney on Ice is amazing if you have small children who like Disney. My 5 year old daughter has been asking all year when we will go again. Over the years I’ve gradually worked up from cheap seats at the back to this year getting front row seats (this will be our 4th time). My daughter always dresses up in one of her princess dresses too!

    re Shop Small
There is still time to get a full set of supplementary cards by December. The card holder can have a supplementary with relationship type other.

    • MattB says:

If supplementary cards are classed as separate to main them we have 6 cards between us which is fine for our habits. Not many options in my immediate area but plenty in Cardiff.

      • Nate1309 says:

Giovannis is one of my favourite uses in cardiff, split a meal for 2 across all my cards. But it didnt auto trigger last year and took ages to chase up afterwards.

      • LewisB says:

You can do a great bar crawl in Cardiff. Zero degrees, Kongs, Tiny Rebel, Moon, Pulse all included. Finish it off with a good dinner at Astor 44 or Curado. Real Italian Pizza company is on the Meerkat 241 if you have that, plus split the bill across two (or more) amex cards. Absolute bargain.

OT: Best priority pass lounge in Singapore Changi Terminal 1, any ideas? Very long layover on the way back from bali.

    • The Lord says:

Not sure if it was T1 but we really liked the food and drink at the Dnata lounge. Also was super quiet. Heard other good reviews of the other PP lounge but forget the name

    • The Savage Squirrel says:

Go and ride the giant slide. You know you want to really ;).

  • Kazim says:

Went to Bicester this weekend and forgot to visit the visitor centre to get the avios. Is there still an email address to which you can send your receipts so that they can credit your BA account?

  • Ben E says:

Oh wow, surprised I didn’t get my cards suspended last year! Will have to be canny at spreading payments over time!

  • Jason says:

OT shoestring thanks for advice yesterday Flybe changed flight to BA after a little bit of challenge , interestingly wasn’t offered initially and was told it wasn’t possible to start off with
