Today, 5th October, is your last day to get a 30% bonus when you buy Radisson Rewards points.  This is the loyalty scheme for Radisson BLU, Radisson Red, Radisson Collection, Park Plaza and Park Inn.

The link is here.  The bonus is not tiered – all purchases, however, small, receive the bonus.

The maximum number of points you can purchase in any given year is 80,000.

I tend to value a Radisson point at 0.33p.  Under this offer, you are paying $7 (£5.67) per 1000 points + 30% bonus, which is 0.44p each.  This means it isn’t worth buying points speculatively, although it is a way of topping up your account if you are close to a redemption.  It may also make sense if you are heading to any very expensive cities soon.

Remember that you can also transfer American Express Membership Rewards points at the 1:3 rate if you need a few extra points for a planned redemption.

To be honest, if you have the Amex points I would use those rather than buy points even with a 30% bonus.  Under the 30% deal you are buying points for 0.44p, which means 1 Amex point gets you (3 x 0.44p) 1.32p of value.  This is an excellent return on your Membership Rewards points.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (December 2021)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.  These include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.
