It’s the end of the month and as usual another stash of offers are closing! If you’re looking at holiday packages you might be tempted by Virgin Atlantic’s Flight & Holiday promotion where you can save £100 – £250 (closes today!).

The current British Airways sale has been extended for a week, so you now have until 1st October to take advantage. Take a look at the opportunity to collect Avios with Laithwaites Wine or via a subscription to The Economist.

There are plenty of hotel promotions making the rounds too – almost every brand appears to be running some sort of offer.

Finally – if you are keen to get a Priority Pass – you can do so for a reduced annual fee this month.

OT but no bits… Anyone know if you can get into Plaza Premium First at HKG using Amex plat and/or Priority Pass, and what the supplement fee might be, assuming there is one? Thanks In advance

  Data point in case of interest to others. Upgrade fee was $250 HKD (£25) for Plaza premium first. I would have happily paid if the massage slots were available, but there was a waiting list so went next door to standard Plaza premium. It’s rammed in here though, and a long queue to get in, so in hindsight the $250 HKD would have been worthwhile

    I too would have just about considered a 250HKD supplemement for First, if massages had been available.
    
    However, if there are going to be queues and any difficulty getting into any Plaza Premium Lounge, that is just about the final straw that would stop me bothering with Priority Pass. Plaza Premiums are the only reason I carry this pass at all. As the incredible majority of all the other Priority Pass lounges around the world that I’ve been in , are mediocre at best. Very few other reasons for me to maintain Priority Pass due to this quality issue.

O/T – need some advice please. Looking to book the Intercontinental Cascais-Estoril. I have Ambassador with IHG. If I book through Amex FHR, will I still get any Ambassador benefits or just the FHR benefits?

    Doesn’t really matter as Ambassador benefits are worse than the FHR benefits anyway, but you should get both.

  There’s a recent article on here written by Cat compaing the main HK Oneworld lounges. IIRC Pier first or second (most people would say second), the other Cathay First lounge first, then QF, then BA.

1. Thanks re a post I made a few months ago, asking if worth following up a small complaint with BA. Shoestring encouraged me to follow up for 10K Avios. Actually bagged 60K Avios.
