Avios has fixed the error with regional redemption pricing, I’m pleased to say.

Last week we ran an article on how long-haul Avios redemptions were pricing higher for people starting at UK regional airports than for those starting at Heathrow.

This was not meant to be the case.  Connecting flights to long-haul redemptions were meant to be free.

The good news is that British Airways has fixed the problem.

As you can see from the screenshot above, a typical redemption in Club World from Newcastle to New York is now back to 100,000 Avios return.  Last week it was pricing at 110,000 Avios.
