American Airlines and British Airways are offering decent mid-week fares from Manchester to Las Vegas for a limited time in November / December. You can connect in London or in one of American Airlines’ mid-Atlantic hubs.

I managed to get fares for £1382 in the last week of November flying via Philadelphia outbound and Heathrow on the return.

Availability isn’t great – the fare only appears to be valid for a handful of weeks. The travel dates are between 18th November and 2nd December 2019, and you must fly between Monday and Wednesday on the outbound and Tuesday and Friday inbound. You must stay over a Sunday.

This isn’t the most useful fare deal but if you can fit yourself around the restrictions it’s not half bad, especially if you are after some British Airways Executive Club tier points.  If you can route both legs via Philadelphia then the trip would earn 560 tier points since you have four legs over 2000 miles each.

To maximise your miles when paying, your best bet is the British Airways American Express Premium Plus card which earns double Avios (3 per £1) when you book at ba.com or via BA Holidays.  You do not get double Avios if you book with the free British Airways American Express card

Another option is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold which offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.

You can book on the British Airways website.
