Milan Linate Airport to close for three months – what are your options?

If you have any plans to head to Italy this Summer or Autumn, note that Milan Linate is to close entirely between 27th July and 27th October.  This is to allow runway renovations to take place.

Malpensa is operating as normal, but of course requires a longer trip into the city centre.

British Airways is also launching flights to Bergamo from Gatwick.

Flights start on 1st September and will operate six days per week.

Whilst 45km from Milan itself, which makes it an odd choice if that is your destination, Bergamo is very well placed for Lake Como and is also within driving distance of Lake Garda.  It will also open up access to a number of ski resorts in the Alps.
