If you were at the Hilton Honors Jessie J concert at Abbey Road Studios the other week, you may find this review from the (ahem) Daily Star worth a quick read.

Hilton Honors Jessie J concert

It includes this picture.  If you click to enlarge, you might see yourself on there somewhere – I am there, my face partially hidden, in a grey jacket (look straight down from the barman top right in the white shirt), my wife is the blonde with the white top in front of me.  It was probably the oldest crowd she had ever played to ….

I wonder if London Airways are going to offer free Shuttle flights so that their other customers in the regions, whom they are quite happy to take extra money from, can attend? Why not Alton Towers or Blackpool Pleasure Beach to make it more accessible to more of their customers?

    • Doug M says:

      The north, lol.

    • David says:

Because more of their customers are in London than in Blackpool…? Why should they give out free flights?

      • BJ says:

Seriously doubt most of BA customers are in London, I am quite sure they will have more in the USA. Obviously not more in Blackpool but there or Alton Towers would put them within closer reach of more of their UK customers. Why should everything have to always be more convenient for Londoners? Although I stayed there about 12cyears myself and must admit I enjoyed the convenience at the time 🙂

        • David says:

I didn’t write “most” customers are in London, I said “more than Blackpool”. And yes, I’m sure they have way more “in the USA”, because the USA is huge. They could hardly hold an event in one location that would be convenient for the entire USA customer base…

If they want to host one event that’s going to be within a 2 hour travel time for as many customers as possible, it basically has to be London.

Additional bit (maybe) – last night I received email invitation to Accelerate 2. This IHG promotion runs 1/7/19-31/10/19 and is exactly same
Format as Accelerate that was launched few months back. I was not allowed to sign up
For the original accelerate promotion a few months ago (IHG simply told me I was not eligible). So if your one of those people maybe check for an email invite to accelerate two.

    • ChrisC says:

What sort of targets were you Offered?

      • Nick says:

Mine where okay – two holiday inn stays , one four night stay, book two bonus points packages and two Saturday stays all for total of 27400 points (no bonus for completing all four). These are good for me as I have 7 stays already booked in this period which will cover all my targets.

        • ChrisC says:

I didn’t think existing bookings were qualified but I’ll check the T&Cs of mine.

I did manage to register for the original offer and should manage to meet all the targets for around 97k points in total which is pretty sweet

        • BJ says:

My partner got 40k for 6 nights, two weekends, two bonus points, and download and book with app. Total for those was 10k, 20k for completing three and 40k for completing all four. Will obviously ignore.

          • Chrisasaurus says:

            Thats pretty decent, no?

Consider that two weekends, booked at bonus point rate on the app and two other nights anywhere maxes the bonus?

    • John says:

Are the links personalised too or can someone share the link?

      • BJ says:

Not sure but I’m guessing personalised because my partners email stated ‘register with one click’. That said it didn’t, he still had to sign in on the next page so another might or might not be able to use. My partner couldn’t register last time so I thought it was targeted at such people but comments already suggest some who are currently registered also got an email.

      • Rob says:

This seems to be a ‘make up’ for those who could not register due to IT issues for the other one.

  • One Born Every Minute says:

O/T HFP Summer party tickets for sale.
    4 tickets £1000.00 each.

    • Shoestring says:

or just wait until a few people who can’t attend offload them here at face value 🙂

  • ChrisC says:

    @Rob

Has he sent you that Premier card yet?.

    • Rob says:

Sadly not. And I invited him to the party too. Thought the lack of free food would appeal but when he heard there was a free drink he couldn’t face it.

      • Alex says:

You should implement a ‘like’ button on your comments 😀

  • Dale says:

The Jessie J concert exceeded expectations for sure, a very powerful performance. Canapes less exciting and certainly not in sufficient quantities, and they ran out of bottles of Brewdog!

Best value I’ve had from HH points so far.

    • Rob says:

Never saw any Brewdog but no shortage of food in my corner. Clearly not hovering in the right place!

    • Nick says:

IMHO there was much more than enough food available. What time did you arrive? I had absolutely no issue with that, whatsoever. 🙂

  • Andy says:

Love the Not Alex Cruz account – especially the one where he finds an extra blueberry in his CE meal and wants to fire someone when he gets into the office 🙂

  • Nick G says:

I can’t get the LEGOLAND link to work . Just takes me to the normal LEGOLAND page to buy tickets (I am on an I phone)

    • bookish says:

Try opening it as a new page rather than clicking through. I’m on a mobile and it worked for me doing it this way.

      • Rob says:

Because of the way it operates as a pop up, certain security stuff on your computer may block it. No idea why Merlin operates like this.

    • pauldb says:

If you can get to the normal ticket buying portal, open the menu in the top left and enter the Promotional Code BA2019.

They use accesso for sales and Q-bot, so it’s probably their fault (too busy trying to win US clients).

  • SG says:

    Hi Shoestring
Could you please post again the link to the Virgin Shop Away Miles Finder,I’m sure it was you who kindly posted here previously
Checked the website but could not find it on the menu
Just got a new card,250 miles would come handy!

    • SG says:

      Many thanks

    • Concerto says:

When I get to the download bit, it says the site can’t be found.

      • Shoestring says:

        try Opera

        • Concerto says:

It seemed to work using Chrome…I think. None of it resembled what it looked like in the instructions, but there is a red icon in the toolbar in Chrome which leads to it. How long do the miles take to post?

        • Shoestring says:

as always with Virgin, not immediate – I guess a month or so (?), can’t really remember
