The British Airways Sofitel Terminal 5 hotel check-in trial ends

I believe – although this is not definite – that the British Airways check-in trial at the Sofitel Hotel in Terminal 5 has ended.

This had been operating during the mornings, in line with check-out times at the hotel.  You could check in your suitcases at a desk in the hotel and then leave them there, allowing you a ‘hands free’ walk into the terminal.

A British Airways employee would later carry your luggage across by hand.  It isn’t clear if the trial has been deemed a success or not, or indeed what could count as ‘successful’ given the requirement for BA employees to manually transfer your bags.
